Any ideas on battery life for this? I'd probably use more for intensive music production than gaming. (Video card is prob overkill I know).
Looking at 1 hr gaming

I was contemplating this for awhile even ordered it but ended up cancelling. This is the dash model and not the a15. It lacks a numpad and camera. The newer a15 tuf are yet to be released or found. I'm looking more towards the new unreleased Dell G5 line as there is an American Express deal that ends in April for $100 off $500 purchase.

because nvidia decided to start hiding the TDP from consumers, vs at least giving them an indicator what TDP range it was. they still exist exactly as before the difference is now you don't get to know what you get unless you do in-depth research on it.
I heard it's the other way around. Nvidia has stated they will be asking manufacturers to disclose capabilities of the card.

Then if your going to spend retail price you should get any of the 30 series desktop cards. Even if you get a laptop and it's an older laptop you can use it as an egpu.

Why is intel still milking 4c/8t? I7-6700k came out in 2015. What are we up to now, 14 nm++++++?
Because they can ramp up the frequency easier, which is the advantage over AMDs lower frequencies. I am not saying Intel is better. I prefer Amds lower power consumption and better IPC. Just that intel has the frequency advantage.

Does anyone know how to turn off adaptive brightness on this laptop? Windows Power option does not have the option to enable/disable it. Plus, there is no intel software to touch the option. Even Asus support team does not know their own product. I am about to return it.

FYI, don't be fooled by the specs on best buy product page. It has only one ram slot. Hate soldered ram.

I believe this tops out at 51mh/s if that's your goal.
I got 3 and they mine stably closer to 48 - 49, if you push it past 50 it's hard to manage because some drop out. :p

Do you feel like the power/cost ratio is worth it mining with laptop. I keep hearing different opinions.

It is pretty efficient for the rate since it's a lower wattage gpu, but you'd get better bang for your buck getting a desktop gpu, even with the inflated prices. Assuming you have a PC to toss it into. I like that the residual value of the laptop will probably stay higher even when gpu prices come back down. I just think of it as a free laptop after mining for many months and a way to cost average a buy into btc.

I had 4 of them. I wasn't overclocking them and they were pushing 43 to 45 mhs. After 9 days of running in my garage at about 50 degrees one of them shutoff and wouldn't turn back on no matter what I did. I ended up returning all of them because if one of them is going to die within 10 days I doubt they are going to mine without issue for ~10 months until they pay for themselves. YMMV of course.

4 cores is tough to swallow at $1500.. If they had a variant with the 3060 for $1100-1200 then that would make a lot more sense to me. But this one just doesn't cut the mayo.

Ambient 50, or reported 50? I found that when mining, the built in cooling was insufficient and I have all of mine sitting on strong fans blowing air up into them. Even then, some sit at 70C when mining. Maybe that was an issue?

They have a variant for the 3060 at your price point, you don't get the same screen though.

This is the lower power CPU line I believe for lighter laptops.
Oh, I see. Then why give it a new generation title? Maybe they should go with 10th gen Max P, like Nvidia does
