I think you are mistaken. HD has the bare tool [homedepot.com] without the battery for same price. The one with the 5 AH [homedepot.com] battery costs $199. Basically just a free battery.

Reviews say that pressure is not good but I think this is a pretty good deal for the tool + battery under certain use circumstances. For me, I have a large property with structures on it in places a hose will not even come close to reaching. This unit has a suction hose that you can drop into any water source (lake, 55 gallon drum, etc) so you do not need to hook it up to a water hose. Very cool in my opinion and I know I will find some use for it in places where it is impossible or inconvenient to use my gas powered washer.

I have the Ryobi too. Its basically worthless. I haven't found a good reason to use it vs my 3100 psi simpson pressure washer. By the time I finish with the Ryobi I could have set up the simpson, taken apart the carb, rebuilt it, and then finish the project. Ryobi one is so slow its painful.

This pressure is actually really good for wood prior to refinishing. Low pressure is better. Also great for boats.

How well would this work for cleaning off my patio furniture or washing a car? My gas one is a PITA to drag out for those kinds of small jobs.

I have the ryobi one and find it useful. I didnt buy it thinking it would do what my 3k+ psi washer would, for sure. Had a ton of ryobi batteries and got it for around $50 with a battery so thought, why not. Most useful feature for me is that it can pull from a bucket/lake/trough/etc for places where you cant get a hose or where it'd be too much work. Admittedly, it's a small set of niche use cases between a regular hose and a full washer, but IF you fall into those use cases it's golden!
