Shoei RF-1200 Motorcycle Helmet - $389 YMMV

$389.00

Just about all of the Shoei RF-1200 helmets have been reduced to $389 for clearance at B&M Cyclegear Stores. Normal price is $498 and up.

This has been Shoei's flagship helmet for 7 years, has won a number of awards, and is being replaced by the extremely similar RF-1400.

The price online shows much higher, but you can use the website to check for size/color availability in store.

These are also available at a number of online dealers at a similar price, such as:
https://motorcyclecloseouts.com/s...00-helmet/

However, buying in store is a much better option, as:
- You are able to try on, to verify a good fit, which is quite important.
- You get the 5 year warranty by purchasing from an authorized dealer

Is the face shield the same between the RF models? Or are they slightly different? I.e., can you use an RF1200 face shield on the RF1400? I still have my RF1100 from years back, stopped riding, but plan on getting back to it, can I use that face shield on this?

Heads up: if you're wanting 10/10 safety, most helmet manufacturers say to dispose of a helmet 5 years after it's manufactured as the glue that holds the EPS liner in the shell deteriorates over time.

Shoei puts their manufacture date on a sticker inside the helmet on the EPS foam. Check the chin area first, and if you don't see it, remove the liner. It's probably fine, but always a good idea to check this when looking at clearance helmets.

Gosh I love Shoei.

Good for oval heads? Mine wishes it was round, but it aint. I think I had an RF-1100, and it fit like a dream.

Yes, the RF 1100 and 1200 have the same part # for their visors. If you had the RF1000 you'd be one gen late but with your 1100 you're in luck. Happy riding sir

I'm not sure why this is considered a slick deal... it's way too old to be above $300.
Get the RF-1400 for around the same price. Or the GT AIr or GT Air 2.

Can't go wrong with Shoei. I took a 1500 mile MC trip last year (Seattle to Reno and back), at least half of the time in rain, no visor leaks or fogging.

I liked my old shoei, I think 389 is still a bit high for close out. After switching to my HJC rpha 11 pro that I got on close out for 294 I don't think im going back to spendy helmets. Some of the HJC's come with a smoke and a pinlock. Worth every penny.

Well of course they do. They want you to buy another helmet. Smilie

That said, I tend to get bored and buy a new helmet every 3 years or so.
