Same deal as in December, but just announced that PS5 owners will get a free upgrade if you own the PS4 version (must have the PS5 with disc drive to take advantage of this price). So, seems like an even better deal than earlier.

Yes, save your $30 and get the free digital copy. (I couldn't edit a wiki) https://blog.playstation.com/2021/02/26/playstation-plus-games-for-march-final-fantasy-vii-remake-maquette-remnant-from-the-ashes-and-farpoint/

Rumor is this is the next ps plus game.
And that is not just speculation. But being from pretty reliable sources.

If that's the case I wouldn't be suprised if everyone who bought it came back, and thumbed down the deal 😂 .

I would just wait, I mean I have seen the game at $40 it's just an extra $10 savings.

The fine print in the email specifically says it's for purchasers of the physical game. Not sure about the digital so I'm assuming they're anticipating the ps plus thing

has there been any announcement on the PC version?

Also, BOOOO to a Yuffie DLC. I want a Tifa DLC, and more Tifa DLCs.

If thats true would it get PS5 upgrade for free or would that be only to people that bought it?
You need the physical disc for the free upgrade to the PS5 version.

Just to note. The PSN Plus version is NOT eligible for the free PS5 upgrade.

I think it was saying to upgrade your disc based FF7R, you need a disc edition of the PS5.

They will probably give free upgrades to digital FF7R owners, but not the Free PS+ edition.

Since there are all these rumors about FF7R not selling that well, and I love the series.... I am just going to rebuy the Deluxe edition Smilie

Just read this on IGN - I bought the $30 digital version last month at the tale end of the holiday sale. Sounds like I'll qualify for the upgrade.

Wrong on two accounts. Free upgrades are eligible for both disc and digital owners, why would they exclude the disc people? It's no different than some of the games with upgrades to next gen versions.

FF7R sold well: https://square-enix-games.com/en_...ents-sales

1) I think you mis-read. If you have the digital PS5, you cannot upgrade your Physical copy of FF7R. You need a Disc edition PS5.
2) 5 million copies? Those are rookie numbers. They need to pump those numbers up. It needs to be on every console available and PC.

I bought it for PS4 standard and deluxe(sold my deluxe because it was worth a lot at the time). I am going to buy the deluxe again for the PS5 to show them some support. I am also going to buy on PC when available, and probably upgrade my PC. I like to save money, but I want Square to throw a ton of money at the FF7R series.

As a PS5 owner I am feeling a bit conflicted at the moment. At least it is clear ahead of time what is going on here. Kind of sucks.

"Please note the PS4 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake available to PlayStation Plus members is not eligible for the PS5 digital version upgrade."

I purchased Control Ultimate addition month before it came over to Plus to get free PS5 upgrade only to have it come out on Plus the next month.

I think Sony just wants to squeeze some money from the 10 PS5 owners out there to justify the cost of updating the game
