I was able to make multiple purchases with coupon.
I have a couple of these. Really like the dimmer functions and the battery life is excellent.

Tha provided magnet strip adhesive was not enough to hold it vertically.

I'd rather buy one that takes regular batteries. I find that the rechargeable solutions just don't last.

Where do you need the dimming function? Most closets, just the brightest setting is best.. ?

Maybe dimming might save some battery in those cases, that's the added value.

So if these are not that good, can someone point me to ones that are good?

It does dim. There's a knob on it that allows you to do it. Just don't drop it ever. They inside is a cheap board with glue instead of sodder. Very badly made but the leds are very bright so as long as you protect it, it can be very bright and useful, especially during a blackout or storm.

This light is actually pretty decent at this price. Not worth anymore than this. Just buy extended warranty and don't drop it. It's cheaply made but it's very bright and they last a long time.

I use a similar "closet" led light under a bunk bed for my child's reading light and under kitchen cabinets. They dim and change temp. Also use them for power outages instead of candles and slap them on everything magnetic.

Please stop recommending these. They are pretty cheaply no-name brand that they just keep up selling, but marking as 'a deal' to get enough positive reviews. Once they all crap out, they'll just change the brand name to something else and repeat the cycle.

I use these for under cabinet and closet pantry. I like the dimmer function because I don't need a 350 lumen 6k light turning on instantly when I walk by. These also have a slow fade when turning off. I am amazed at the battery life. I tried others and was not impressed. I would prefer a solid light rather than being able to see the individual Leds.

No need to engage in crazy conspiracy theories. OP is just trying to help.

Don't see anything to complain about. I have similar one from an SD, and it does what its supposed to, even after a few years.

The reviews seem good on these. They also have a $10 coupon making them 3 for $25. You can see videos in the review section.
