This is an amazing jacket that I've had for years and it's still going strong. It's more like the old style of nylon, but soft. Not the new crunchy style that makes you sweat quickly. I replaced a North Face jacket with this one and couldn't be happier. This is a good price and it comes around this mark every now and then. But if you need one, get it!

Looks like a nice jacket, but lots of reviews on the site complaining about the breast cancer logo being located on the left arm sleeve rather than on the chest as seen in the pictures. Also, reviews claim that the Columbia logo isn't embroidered (as seen in pictures) but printed/stamped on. Everything that attracted me towards buying the jacket seem to be in contradiction to what you'll get in hand. Conflicted!

From what I've heard in the past, they have tried to steer away from the embroidered logos, because they are less waterproof than the stamped on logos. Many complained that the embroidered logos led to water seeping into the inside of the jacket.

Still sucks that this is basically false advertising.

I just noticed that my best waterproof gear has printed logos. It doesn't bother me at all but it might bug others. And it is indeed false advertisement.

Exactly.

If the products lives up to what it's expected to do then looks shouldn't be an issue... but to each their own.

Getting a few for the girls in my family.

First, this jacket is made for rain... so it may not fit if you care considering extra garments underneath. From what the reviewers on the website say, it is a FIT type of fit.

I have seen different combos for people wearing different types of wear. If you do decide to do this. Here is where you will lose on some of these things from what the actual snow jacket offers:

Powder skirt for snow, possible skirt can attach to the pants/bib if the set is complete
Water/moisture proof (gore-tex or other material that help breathe and keep warmth better) from snow activities
Water proof lined zippers
Pit vent holes (also water zippered)
Better draw string cord
Jacket sewn to compliment the under layers (soft shells) and base layers to give you more maneuverability
Some awesome colors (bright) to help rescuers find you if you get lost or stuck somewhere

If these things aren't a problem or high on your priority list, then do what makes you happy and most importantly do it if it is PRACTICAL.

My read on the original comment wasn't that it wasn't quality, but that if the product was different that the description on more than one issue, you can't really be sure of what else may be different or what you are actually getting...

Oh ok no worries, my reply wasn't intended for malice.

From reading a lot of the reviews on the website, much of it was regarding the look (logo) of where it was placed at.

On some of the Reviews, One reviewer Stated the reason why the Logos were not stitched was due to the fact the Stitching holes led to leaks.

This in turn led them to stop embroidering the jackets.

I do understand some of the peoples concerned that the advertised jacket in the picture is not the same as the advertised picture on their website. This will lead to many complaints such as false advertisement.

So again my comment was to state that if the jacket works as intended then the looks should be Secondary. To each their own. Sorry, No Malice Intended.
