Promotion Terms: Up to $200 off Pixel 4a (5G)
Get up to a $200 phone discount with the purchase and activation of a Pixel 4a (5G) phone from fi.google.com. New Fi customers must bring/transfer your number to Fi from your current carrier to be eligible. Current Fi customers are eligible for $100 off.
How do I qualify for the $200 discount as a new Fi customer?
A new Fi customer is somebody who is new to Google Fi on either a new plan, or a new member as a part of an existing group plan. Former Fi customers who have cancelled or paused service are not eligible.
To qualify for the full $200 discount, you need to:
Activate the phone on a new full service plan (data-only SIMs do not qualify) within 30 days of the shipment confirmation email and keep the qualifying phone active on Google Fi for 90 consecutive days. You must activate on the same Fi account used to purchase the phone.
You must also bring/transfer your number to Fi within 30 days of the shipment confirmation email. Fi-to-Fi number transfers are not eligible.
If you choose to get a new number, you will not receive the $200 discount.

To qualify for the $100 discount, you need to:
Activate the Pixel 4a (5G) on an existing full service plan (data-only SIMs do not qualify) within 30 days of the shipment confirmation email and keep the qualifying phone active on Google Fi for 90 consecutive days. You must activate on the same Fi account used to purchase the phone.
If you activate the phone on a new Fi account, you are not eligible for this promotion. See previous section for new user promotion requirements.
The discounted price will automatically apply during checkout. If you do not meet the conditions above, the discounted amount will be charged to your Google Pay account to match the full price of the phone.
Any other details to know?
Offer is valid while supplies last or while the promotion is live and available on the fi.google.com site.
For individual plans, limit one per person. For group plans, limit one per group plan member.
Offer is only available to U.S. residents 18 years or older, and requires Google Pay and Google Fi accounts.
Unless otherwise stated, this offer cannot be combined with other offers.
Discount is not transferable and is not valid for cash or cash equivalent.
If Google Fi determines that this offer is used in connection with abuse, misuse, or fraud, or if the account used to purchase the phone is not in good standing, the discounted amount will be charged to your Google Pay account.
Void where prohibited.

You need to keep the phone active for 3 months, which is a minimum of $20 per month for Google FI service.

I suggest waiting for other retailers to drop their prices (like they did the last time this phone was discounted on the Google FI store) and combine it with other offers and cashbacks.

Edit: My bad, I was thinking when Google Store dropped the price and the other retailers followed suit

So this would be $299+2x20 = $359+taxes versus $499 = $140 in savings

Visible deal is better IMHO

Agreed. I got my Pixel 3 when it was "free" (dollar-for-dollar credit with Delta or Airbnb or whatever) and until Google does something a bit more compelling again, I can't think of a good reason to go with Fi. The MVNO options are getting more competitive; Google needs to step up their game if they want people to use their overpriced service.

Not a bad deal. You can also save additional $20 by using a referral from any existing Fi customer. So net cost will be $299+ taxes, + 2 months service only, for new customer. I've been a long time Fi customer and have no complains so far.

I'm on Visible right now and have been eyeing the 4a 5g for a bit now. Thinking of maybe trying this to scoop the phone then go back to Visible.

Have a 2nd gen iPhone SE on ATT, have been considering Fi for a while. This deal with trade in ($179) and referral ($20) means I'm only paying $100 for the phone.

I know my situation is unique and maybe the Visible deal is better for some, but this works out better for me. Thanks!

Will this work on Verizon? I'm on a grandfathered family plan there, not looking to switch.

This is a way better deal compared to Visible is it not? Visible is a rebate. I do not know how good they are about paying out, maybe they are reliable, but still a rebate. This is an instant $299 out the door price right? This seems way better. Now Visible is the better deal for service (for most) but getting the actual phone from Fi seems way better.

Depending on how you look at it. It is $299 out of pocket immediately, then ~$25 ($20 monthly plan + ~$5 on 911/regulatory fee/tax) in the middle of first month. After that, the $20 referral credit will be applied at the beginning of 2nd month, so you will only be charged the ~$5 tax/regulatory fee/tax, etc for the 2nd month. Then 3rd month will be another ~$25.

Note: Google Fi bills are due in the middle of the month/billing cycle.

For Google Fi, the trade in credit is not applied immediately when you check out. You will have to mail them the trade in phone first then they will determine the trade in value of the phone. You may get a different trade in value than the estimate you got, and they will refund that trade in value to your credit card.

In short, you are basically paying $299 + $25 + $5 + $25 = $354 + tax on phone - a refund on whatever trade in value they give you on your iPhone SE.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I am assuming you are picking the cheapest plan ($20/mo + $10/gb pro-rated data)

I agree it depends on how you look at it. I'm not concerned about the 3 months of bills to qualify for the $200 discount since I'm planning on staying with Fi. I'm actually going from 1 line with ATT to 2 lines with Fi (instead of adding a 2nd line with ATT) so the plan change will be saving me money over the long run as well. Also I'm not concerned about the initial out of pocket first charge or the trade in refund as I'll be staying with Fi for at least a while and the iPhone is barely used. Admittedly I've never done a trade in with Google but I've never had problems completing trade ins in the past nor have I heard horror stories about Fi trade ins.

So yeah its how you look at it and may not be the best deal compared to the Visible deal, but it works out well for me. Smilie

Visible has much better cashback from cb sites and chase offers on top of that. Most visible rebates are troubleless if you stay with the service for required period.
