Hey guys, found this today while looking for a hot water heater. It looks like at the price point, it bears Amazon by a couple of dollars.

Use code Save20.

Additionally, the Zojirushi Microm is 119.99 with the same code.

What a stupid statement. Hot water is not rocket science.

But managing time is harder than rocket science. Wife and I use this at home to make tea as do not want to leave a pot of water boiling all day. This is much safer easier when time is money

Do not have this exact mode but have another and works so well

Those who fail to see the value of this item lack the power of imagination and only view the world through a tiny sliver of vision. I have many fond memories of eating hot instant ramyun after an exhilarating ski rides down Mammoth while others are waiting in long line to purchase overpriced and overcooked burger.

I am not on either side of this debate, but for the people who think this is great, perhaps you can give us a use case scenario for this. Is it for people who drinks tea like 3-5 times a day and doesn't want to wait 5 minutes to boil water in a kettle? Or perhaps at a work environment or other enviroment without stove top available?

It boils water and keeps it hot so you have instant hot water. Very convenient if you brew tea or coffee through out the day. Good for frequent tea drinkers and large groups. Or those that want instant hot water on tap.

It's overkill for those that don't use much hot water, for example if you just brew tea or coffee once a day.

i feel like i'm going to get trolled for this, but i have two of these. one of the big guys for home and had the smallest on my desk at work prior to shifting to working at home.

It sounds insane, but it's truly an amazing convenience. i drink a lot of tea, my wife likes her ramen and hot chocolate. being able to get these things together immediately throughout the day (i have probably 3 big cups a day) is a big time saver. it's one less trip to the kitchen (to start the boiling) per instance.

when you're constantly on calls or dealing with other aspects of life, that really adds up. not just the extra trip but the need for that secondary trip to be _timed_. "oh the water's boiling but now i can't get off the call, or i need to change a diaper" etc...

all that being said, zojirushi makes great stuff.

We use hot water to cook a lot of things, oatmeal, noodles, vegetables, soups, ... no reason not to start with really hot water from the boiler.

What's the difference between the VE Hybrid and Micom versions?
The VE Hybrid has a vacuum layer for insulation, similar to the very popular Yeti cup as I understand, so it's.very energy efficient. For a 3 Liter pot, the hybrid model consumes about 35% less electricity a year than a regular one.

I bought the VE Hybrid version for $128 from Amazon in 2017. Only used it a few times but it works good. I wouldn't pay $176 for it though.

used to use this, pretty great product if you consume hot water. you'll know if you need this, so if you're complaining about a $200 water warmer you don't have to worry about this. another alternative is to keep a boiler and an insulated jug. i have an awesome wmf one that's pricey but i believe it consumes less power than this boiler/warmer
