These have been anywhere from $212 to ~$240 multiple times over the past couple months. Fine deal, but no slick at all
Those prices are for refurbs. This listing is for brand new.

Tbf Bose refurbished are essentially new (open-box returns) 30% off this price.

Also IIRC the $240 was new it required a edu, health, first responder or military code which is quite encompassing.

Man, I'm so glad I got these refurbished from Bose for only $160. One of my best finds ever, not regrets.

Im gonna wait out in hopes that bose will drop the QC3s. These headphones are cool but i didn't find them as comfortable as the QC series which was a huge deal breaker for me.

Don't buy this if you plan for jogging or running with it. It creates a cracking sound every time your feet hits the ground and creates a jolt.

I would avoid any noise canceling headphones for jogging (active or passive). You really need to be aware of your surroundings for safety. When jogging or running outside, I'd suggest headphones or earbuds that let you hear the outside world.

I bought the refurb for cheaper but if you want a brand new set in retail packaging, this is a good find. The refurb does come with Bose warranty but it comes in a very basic, generic cardboard box so perhaps not suitable for gifting, etc., if that matters to you.

I was debating between the Sony XM4 and the Bose NC700 - I ended up going with the latter and I'm happy with my choice. The app may have been broken at launch but it seems to have been fixed and it works fine for me paired with an iPhone 12 and my work phone / PC. I actually find it pretty easy to control which devices are paired (up to 2) via the app. I have no issues keeping it on my head for 5-6 hours at a time comfortably (although YMMV on this front) and I love being able to seamlessly switching between incoming calls on my work phone on the one hand and streaming music from my personal phone on the other.

I've heard people say that the XM4 has better sound/ANC. I haven't compared them side by side in person and I'm no audiophile, so I might take their word for it but the NC700 is plenty good enough for me in that department and definitely leaps ahead of anything else I've owned previously (including entry-level Beats and Audio-Technica headphones).

The dealbreaker for me on the XM4 was the microphone sound quality. I'm on conference calls all the time so this was important to me. There's a guy who did a call test side by side on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejqzxaaNltI) so you can check out for yourself, but the XM4 microphone just sounds horribly muddled/tinny.

I will say that the battery life on the XM4 is supposed to be significantly longer in comparison (up to 30 hours, compared to the 18-19 hours I'm getting on the NC700), so if you're not planning to take calls on your headset, this might sway you towards the XM4.

I got one from one of the recent deals. Wasn't sure if I was going to keep them as they're still pricey, and I have a QC25 (got the bluetooth mod for it as well).

I love them. I think they feel better and are built to more premium standards than the QC series. Great sound quality as well. Not sure how QC35 battery holds up, but this is way better than the AirMods I attached to my QC25, which last for about 6 hours.

Just wanted to share my opinion for anyone on the fence.
What are you going to do with the QC25 with BT mod... I have the same thing and got the refurb 700 on ebay a few weeks ago. These QC25 still are comfy but not much value selling it. I guess I can just hang onto them as a spare.

Hello,

Can you please share the exact BT mod you bought and share how happy you are with it? There seems to be several solutions out there
I have the Bolle Raven version and they work great when I used teh QC25's. But I did have to contact them within the first year for a replacement, which they did free. The jack was loose and I was afraid it would get stuck in my headphones, rendering it useless. This was the original BT mod. There's few others now that are cheaper.

Bose has that studio sound quality, superior ANC and mic quality while Sony has the live performance quality. You won't go wrong with either but keep in mind if you like to listen to a lot of orchestral or songs with rich instruments, the Sony is the way to go while Bose will give you a studio sound for everything else like EDM, rap, electronic. I had both and the only way for the XM3 or 4 to beat Bose at sound quality is to turn off ANC completely since it muddies the sound and bump up clear bass +5 in the equalizer. Messing with the Bose equalizer in the app won't completely remove that signature of having songs sound like they are in a studio but like I said, some people like that signature because of the super smooth rolling low bass.

I personally don't care about mic quality because my iPhone earbuds with the mic have better sound quality than both Bose and Sony.

If you have Sony WH1000XM3 these are pretty much inferior for noise canceling however if you want better audio quality, these are the way to go.
I slightly agree. I have both. Using the Bose right now. The XM3s get louder, have more bass, and battery life. Sound quality is somewhat subjective. If you want something with more punch, the XM3s are for you. Noise canceling is better on the XM3s. The call quality is great on the Bose. Both have touch controls, but I like the ones on the Bose a little more. I was never able to adjust the volume as easily as I could on the Bose compared to the Sonys. I like the design of the Sony's more as far as adjusting the fit. I really wish both would pause if removed, but the XM4s do that and I'm sure if Bose makes an 800 series they will.
You really can't go wrong with either. But depending on your musical preferences and whether or not you take a lot of calls, I would choose one over the other.

Actually almost all the trusted reviewer said exactly the opposite and my personal experience aligns. Noise cancelation is better on Bose if you compare it to the Sony xm3. Microphone/call quality is also better on Bose. But audio quality is definitely better on Sony. Bose is slightly on the softer side.
