This happened to me with Walgreens. Had a vacation planned, got tested three days prior. It took two days just for the tests to arrived at the lab and then another two days to process. If you do the math, that equals cancelled vacation. There are no rapid testing centers on Hawaii's approved by me, but this also was months ago.
This is one of theirs moments where it has actually been good having Kaiser permanente. We went to hawaii in January for 6 days and also just got back from a 10 day trip and both times Kaiser had test results back in plenty of time with no copay. Yes there was a little of the " I hope this works out feeling" but in the end........Hawaii!

Isn't the ID now test free like the others Walgreens offers? So long as you say you have a headache, body aches, runny nose.. you know, the symptoms of every day life Smilie
Lol, yes. Just didn't want to promote that.

And Southwest has significantly better customer service.
Plus Southwest lets you cancel your flight any time before boarding. I am not booking any hotels until I have my negative covid test (I am vaccinated too). Nothing to lose. Getting my test at Walgreens (ID Now test, free if you have the sniffles, 2 hour results). My trip is in April.

Can't you just photoshop a negative test printout? How could they know?
That's the kind of shenanigans that can lead to you being incarcerated. Hawaii does not screw around when it comes to COVID safety. Authorities see enough legit tests to be able to spot a forgery. Why play with fire?

It $ucks. My wife and I were planning to go hawaii for our 10th anniversary, that is around end of May. This would be an excellent deal. Is there even some talks, rumor about letting vaccinated folks fly without any drama? Or make the test requirement little painless??
Hawaii currently has no exemption for people who are vaccinated.

I get weekly updates and this was from today's email (that said, just get the test at Walgreens, billed to your insurance. Takes 10 minutes with results in 2 hours):

We are continuing to await further news and guidance from the state of Hawaii regarding vaccinated travelers and the potential use of health / vaccine passports. It appears the state is proceeding using a three-phase approach to vaccine/health passport travel; the details of which we've outlined on our Hawaii COVID Vaccine & Health Passport Travel page. We expect several changes and updates on this topic in the coming weeks and months. Lt. Governor Josh Green has indicated he is in favor of a Spring 2021 timeline, but Governor Ige has apparently been more inclined to potentially wait until Summer 2021. We are continuing to monitor this topic closely and will keep you posted.

Can you show me how to get these rapid tests from Walgreens in Southern California? I only see Las Vegas as the closest Walgreens that does it.

Go here, put in your zip code, select Rapid Diagnostic Test (ID Now). Some areas just started today, others will start this coming week.

Had to reschedule our vacay to Kauai 3 times in the past year. Was all set for April but things aren't any better than they were 9 months ago. So maybe by October things will be back to normal...maybe. Laying on a beach wearing a mask isn't my idea of a vacation. My heart goes out to our travel agent.

Kauai is a whole different story. From my email:

The latest news from Kauai is that the island will rejoin the statewide 'Safe Travels' program, beginning April 5, 2021. Hawaii Governor Ige must still approve the Kauai Mayor's request, but we believe this will almost certainly occur. The inter-island rules would also likely change and the 'resort bubble' program would theoretically end on April 5th according to the latest news. We'll update you accordingly once this is formally approved by Governor Ige. In the meantime, until April 5th, the Kauai Enhanced Movement Quarantine (EMQ) 'Resort Bubble' program continues to be the only option for direct trans-Pacific travelers who want to visit Kauai. All participating properties are included on our Resort Bubble page and additional information on inter-island travel to Kauai can be found on our Hawaii Travel Restrictions page.

Yep, I'm glad I rescheduled. But if I had to do it all over again....we would have chosen a different destination besides Hawaii. Travel has become too political there.
