Incorrect again. I wasn't trolling. I was stating something that was factual. There have been reports of unacceptably high rates of CPU failure in their 5000 series. How is that trolling? Shouldn't people be informed that they could potentially get a DOA CPU? It doesn't mean they will, but IMO it's still helpful information. Not only that, it's important to know about the MOBO issues, because even if someone does roll the dice on one of these CPUs, they may suddenly wonder why they can't get their mouse or keyboard to work. Oh wait, we should hide all this to appease you and your sensitive fanboy love for AMD.
I own both Intel and AMD computers. I buy what offers the best price/performance at the time.

What I don't do is go into threads and spread FUD. You seem to think you're some kind of CPU whisperer or something, with inside data on RMA rates. You simply were trying to pass something off as fact, and I called you out for your BS.

The Ryzen 7 5800X beats the Core i7-11600K in the leaked PassMark scores but for strictly gaming will the Ryzen 7 5800X beat the Core i7-11600K?

"Unfounded" - Not hardly. It has been widely reported. Why should I believe you over some of the major tech Vlogs? Oh wait, I shouldn't.
I wasn't the one who said "Intel's rate is this", and "AMD's rate is that", and "AMD needs to step up their game".

You're a troll. Now go call AT&T again, and threaten to talk to their legal department and contacting the BBB. LMAO

As much as fun as it has been dealing with a troll like you, I have better things to do "Mr. CPU Whisperer".

You need to do more research. Doesn't seem to be nearly the issue you're making it.

I have the ryzen 9 3900x, I'm a pre med student and time is money and super important to me. I do schoolwork such as office 365 applications, run 30 tabs on chrome for research, run 10 different pdfs on adobe acrobat and game a little to destress such as league of legends / virtual reality surgery simulations. I don't care about $$ / core or whatever. I want the fastest machine but 5900 and 5950x is unavailable. Is it worth to upgrade to 5800x from 3900x. I just want to fastest machine so I can sleep more than 3 hours / day. Thanks!
This won't help you get more sleep. My unsolicited advice is prioritize sleep. It's part of your homework; build at least 7 hours into your schedule as non-negotiable. It's as important as studying for the MCAT or Organic Chemistry and more important in the long-run for your health and brain.

As for productivity, no, the 5800X isn't much of an improvement over the 3900X. For gaming, it helps but other than that isn't worth MSRP. Although, used 3900Xs will sell for close to $400 (or more) so in that case, it could be worth it. But if it were me, I'd stick with the 3900X for another year or two.

Good job giving up. Don't argue with a fool. Best advice I can give you. You showed everyone his/her information was wrong and he/she chose to ignore it and he/she continued spreading it. That means he/she can't learn.

You can get the Ryzen 9 3900x right now for $484 @ $100/month from Amazon (no, credit is not necessary). This is what they do with their echo devices, occasionally will see other items pop up with the monthly payment option.
My 3900X has been a beast for photo and video editing. I do want to upgrade to a 5900X but can wait until it's actually available at MSRP.

This is called confirmation bias. The user will stick to their guns with this one article and take it as absolute before attempting to refute their own claims.

It's your typical fanboy.

I don't even have a single AMD processer PC yet laugh out loud

For those of you who are keeping up on the argument In this thread on failure rates, go read https://www.pcworld.com/article/3...laims.html "read the whole thing please" that should clear up any worries or at least be informed. Thank you and have a wonderful slickday!

LOL... For people who spend a lot of time on Slickdeals, you just need a $50 CPU. For people buying this CPU, you are wasting your compute power to be here. LOL..

Would not buy a CPU from amazon considering all the packaging and shipping horror stories. Also a lot of buyers are holding off buying the 5xxx processors due to the PCIE4/USB chipset bug.
