The CDC recently issued guidance that the fit of a mask is key, so even if you do don a KF94/KN95/N95/FFP2 mask, you should check to see that you can get a very good seal around YOUR face. So don't forget to test any new mask out to ensure you have a good seal and know how to wear it properly!

It's an 8 hour mask. 10 masks won't last the average person two weeks.
huh? 8 hour mask?

you don't need to wear it all the time.

It's absurd they are selling in this large of quantity, encouraging people to buy in bulk when there is still to this day a shortage and a lot of people see the end in sight within a few months so why buy this many?

They should sell it packs of 10 for the same sale price imo, limit 1 per household if there are buyout issues.
50 isn't that much for a family and these are disposable. You are supposed to throw them away after so many hours. When you breathe in it for long time, it gets damp and harder to breathe in. Plus the coronavirus may be trapped on the outside.... We can't wash these too. Why is the public safety considered much less importance than other professions? The public deserves quality respirators too.

When did 3M start making face mask in China. I highly doubt if is authentic. Those buying check to see if it has the 3m seal.
are you serious?

I don't have any info these are real or fake, but one would hope that Chinese fake mask makers would be savvy enough to not put FOUR FULL LINES of Chinese characters on the front of a mask if they were trying to pass it off when it isn't.

Posts earlier in the thread seem to have info on why this is real or not.

I'll stick with my POWECOM for now... they've served me well thus far. But not sure these are fake. Just so little consumer knowledge in this field.

You MUST wear it lot of the time at work, all the time when the shopping and all the time at the gym. 8 hours goes very quickly..... I go beyond 8 hours for these type of folding masks but don't wear it for couple weeks.

KN95, not N95. Please don't post fraudulent products. Probably not even made by 3M. Chinesium strikes again!
You need to look up what NIOSH means. You have no idea.

I think some people are confused about the difference between n95 and kn95 respirators. N95 simply means it has been NIOSH approved. Lot of kn95 respirators provide the same 95% protection but was China tested and hasn't gotten the NIOSH testing. Lot of weak masks with fake kn95 labeling too...... Folding flat masks can be N95 NIOSH approved.
And there are NO ear loop N95s. All have headbands as they seal better.

It has the same model number. It seems like 3M imported KN95 and is able to sell them as n95 in the US. Really strange.
Both N95 and KN95 are just testing standards. The problem with KN95s sold in America is that neither the American or the Chinese authorities have any means to test and enforce the rules. You can sell fakes or bad masks and nobody can hold you accountable. KN95s sold in China are good and N95s sold in America are good. So a mask originally designed for KN95 duty in China that is slightly modified and is now labeled as and tested under N95 rules in the US should work great. Bad/fake products can face the penalty of the law.

This is an official 3M model that is made in China and imported into the U.S. It has dual certifications, N95 (US) and KN95 (China). It's even on their website and you can submit an inquiry to order in bulk.

https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/company-us/all-3m-products/~/3M-Particulate-Respirator-9502-N95-500-ea-C... [3m.com]

The hanging question now is if these are authentic. I'm hesitant but may decide to go for it since Amazon is the seller.

Good deal if these are legit (the sheer volume of fake masks being discovered in these warehouse busts make me second guess).

If you're sceptical, go with the Kimberly-Clark 'duck bill' N95s on Amazon (made in USA).

They might look a little silly, but they're super comfortable relative to other N95s. I have to wear one 8-10hrs/day, and have worn various makes/models. The duck bill is where it's at.
A good filtering mask is very personal and has more to do with fit than anything. A duckbill may be best for some but utterly useless for others.Same with these.

almost pre-covid prices for these. is this a sign that the pandemic is over?
Almost. Have you seen the new case graphs? There's been a huge dip thanks to vaccines and some experts are saying it'll be over by summer.

So they are authentic and made in China. Who knew?
I got some of the same model 8 or 9 months ago that were KN95. They are more durable and comfortable than Powecom (which are not NIOSH).

Since then, these same 3M units have received NIOSH approval; hence the addition of N95 printed on the mask.
