I just said that exact phrase the other day to my GF. LMAO

It IS the game.
The only winning move is not to play.

Be warned, you will waste 30 seconds of your live getting a shovelware game you will most likely never play
This one maybe but there have been a bunch of great free games from Epic - Shadow Complex, Subnautica, the Metro Redux games, Borderlands 2 and the Pre-Sequel - lots that were top tier games when they were released.

Way more than me, but I didn't even pay attention to the Epic freebies before like June of last year. No idea how I missed it.

Killing floor 2 is cool. And the reason I bring it up is that it was free. Takes advantage of my 170hz monitor

Anyone play this? If it's anything like C&C Generals, then I might have to check it out.
Have you seen the Generals Evolution mod for RA3? Looks and feels like a modernized Generals!

Eugen RTS games (Wargame, Steel Division) have a much steeper learning curve especially if you play vs people. There's no base building, points ($) are earned by holding zones. Steel Division 1 and 2 (WW2 version) from the same company have a more modern take on zone holding without fixed zones but play similarly overall.

These games play more like World in Conflict than C&C and even then I'd say these have a significantly steeper learning curve. Lots of numbers and stats and deck building to dig into though if you're willing to spend the time.

Unfortunately if you want to play vs people there are going to be returning players who know these games well and are going to completely stomp the newer players.

I put at least 100 hours in the iteration prior to Red Dragon, and imho it was fun and I liked it.

Thanks OP. I tried this years ago and found if very hard as a beginner to master. For free, I will enjoy it for the weekend trying to relearn. I think if you got proficient at this, it would be fun because there is no killer armament. All have weaknesses against other armaments so strategy becomes really important.

This looks like a pretty cool style of RTS that I haven't seen before. I'm slow and suck at real time but it looks like you can control the speed to some degree - anxious to give it a shot.
