I got the base game a few weeks ago and broke it out yesterday. The asymmetric gameplay is interesting but there is huge discrepancy in power level of the different characters. This expansion has 3 quite weak characters compared to the main set.

Great deal if you can get it. One of the better villainous expansions, IMO.

Our least favorite expansion by far. The mechanisms in this one just weren't rewarding or fun for us.

Edit: we also got the brand new one to the table last night and they keep upping the level of take that to the point it is overshadowing any level of depth or strategy. I honestly can't recommend anything beyond the Cruella expansion at this point.

We bought the base game a few weeks ago and took it out once and were clueless. I guess I need to watch some tutorials or something.

Yeah it's a strange game for sure. All players have different win conditions and you have to always keep them in mind, even those of your opponents, which is especially difficult if you're just learning your own character. It makes more sense the more you play with other people that are either learning with you or already know how to play. And eventually you'll all be doing villainous things to stop each other from winning which is the true spirit of the game.

10% off pretty much all board games with circle offer. It's a "just for you" but I've seen it on multiple accounts so far.

We own the base game and 2 expansions, including this one. Our whole family loves the game (ages 12, 13, 15 and 2 adults) and trying different characters. Very creative, different powers based on the villain -- very cool!

Keep playing a little longer and you may change your mind. My kids (11 and 7) and I have been playing villainous for over a year now and our thoughts on which characters are the best to play as have evolved. My oldest loves playing at Rattigan since you can win multiple ways and my youngest likes Scar the most since he is one of the easier villains to understand his victory conditions.

I played Izma yesterday. I haven't had a chance to play Scar. I personally love these. I am still working from home and I played with my spouse for 8 hours on day one.. we are hooked.

I enjoy the game myself, and every play experience can be different if you choose a different villain. The basic rules stay the same, but each villain has rules that only apply to them. Some people will find the game intimidating, might have to stick to pictionary.

The wife and I are very casual board gamers. We are also very huge Disney nerds. We love these games and try to get a game in whenever our toddler allows. Would not consider it a balanced game by any means but personally that doesn't matter to us.
