No problem. I'd avoid the Tivo as it's very buggy even after several updates. It's a shame as it would be my favorite if it wasn't so buggy. The new Chromecast is probably your best bet but the Firestick works well too for Kodi and other 3rd party apps. If you go the Firestick route get the 4k version or the newest Cube.

I am going with firestick as I see more support on it for Kodi.

Great deal if you like the Roku ecosystem. BF price was $25 at Walmart. IMO, at this price you shouldn't be complaining about the lack of 802.11ac or ethernet.

If you're not sure if you'd prefer Roku, Fire TV or Android/Google, one major difference is that Roku is a closed system, you can't side load applications. The others allow it. I personally think the Roku UI is a little cleaner and faster to navigate compared with the others.

If you have a Logitech Harmony remote with hub, it can control the Roku over Wifi so you can hide it away.

A showstopper for me. Makes sense that streaming sticks are wifi-only, but excluding Ethernet ports from boxes like this is disappointing.
Why would they incur the additional cost and design complexity to add a feature that 0.1% of customers would use? Makes no sense.

It's supposed to be for people that have an older device that apps like Netflix are no longer supporting. But I've seen people claim they got one by creating a new Roku account. Definitely YMMV.

I'm using this model with an ancient N600 router and it hasn't had any issues with 2.4ghz Wi-Fi.

If you've segmented your network correctly you shouldn't have any issues. By segmenting, I mean you use an Ethernet cable for any device that has an Ethernet port and it's convenient to do so. That way you're only using Wi-Fi bandwidth for your Wi-Fi only devices. Furthermore, if you're worried your Wi-Fi signal isn't strong enough, verify with a Wi-Fi signal analyzer app such as WiFi Analyzer or Net Analyzer. You can then see if your Wi-Fi channel is overlapping with your neighbors and manually switch your router's 2.4ghz to a less congested channel.

Hmmm. Simple remote, no volume control. I guess I'm spoiled.
I agree, the extra money for the volume buttons is worth it for me.

After market remote works great. I purchased one for each TV in the house. https://amazon.com/gp/product/B07...UTF8&psc=1 TV power, Volume control & able to control TV Sound bar. I use the roku app on my cell phone for private listening via bluetooth earphones. This 4k media player has a very fast operating system. Best of all worlds

Does anyone the Xfinity app on a Roku stick at different address to stream TV?
Xfinity on the 1st gen fire stick is super slow to start (20 seconds) but streams clearly. I pay for Xfinity at my place, but trying to let someone use my account on the app
Yes, but it needs to be connected to xfinity wifi for the xfinity app to function.

I have the Stick+ now. I started with Roku, then went to Firestick, and I hated the Firestick with a passion. Bought the Roku Stick+ and am glad I did. Having the TV power & volume buttons on the same remote as the Roku is well, well worth the slight increase in price.
Yep I'm spoiled by the roku RF remote with the IR for the tv controls, can't go back lol
