damn i wish this was the one with the wifi, would have bought it.
I own one plus the WiFi bridge.

Yes, the battery's can last a year on normal use, I recommend using lithium AA's to speed the lock motor up a bit.

You get a set of 5 physical keys, they are a high security design and cannot be duplicated normally. Also the unit has a microUSB port on the outside as well so you can power it on that way if your batteries die and don't have a key.
Why 'risk' living in a house with windows? Probably because the perceived benefit outweighs the remote risk. Just like I'm guessing your house remains far more likely to be broken into the old fashioned way before anyone hacks your smart lock.

I tried Kwikset and Wyze and had problems with both. The Kwikset kept burning through batteries in a day or two. The Wyze was a mess and just wouldn't connect.

Fortunately, I was able to send both back, but I am reluctant to try another. I have an excellent wifi set up, but one problem might be with my front door which is slightly warped and especially in the winter it takes some doing to get it closed.

I just replaced my Wyze cameras with Eufy. Maybe I should give this a try. Third lock a charm??

Why would you risk having a smart lock on your door? Seriously this makes no sense.

While they say the fingerprint is stored locally I am just worried that our biometric data will be kept insecurely and fall into the wrong hands.

I am very reluctant to give that to a CCP influenced entity.

How long battery last ? My schlage smart lock battery last about a month. Kinda annoying we have to keep replacing 4x AA batteries.

Gotta check that, mine last maybe 4-6 months on 4 ikea rechargeable AA. Try better batteries and see...

I've had this installed at my house since September of last year, and it has worked excellent! It's very easy to install and set up fingerprints + pin code, and seems to be well made and durable.

I occasionally had some issues getting it to unlock with the app, but it is likely because of the Bluetooth range, it's not a feature I use often anyhow.

If my finger is slightly wet from rain, or holding a cold glass of whiskey, it sometimes takes a few tries to read my print.

The best thing about it is only leaving the house with my car key and that's it, so much less of a hassle now.

It will take time to get used to the deadbolt closing on its own. I can't tell you how many times I've left the door open for over 30 seconds to run and get something outside, and then slammed it against the poor door jamb when coming back inside.

Definitely a solid purchase, and a good price.

I ended up buying the non-fingerprint wifi version for $150. I want to be able to remotely setup temporary pins in case someone needs to access.

Does the bluetooth support Zwave or Zigbee protocol so I can config it for Home Assistant?

Buy better batteries. The cheap batteries end up causing the lock to be unreliable or slow to lock/unlock.

It is when you have kids and groceries.. saving a few seconds to open and close the door would be worth it.
I like the idea but somehow I don't trust it... what if it gone crazy and a bad guy put his finger on and it just unlock for him to come into the house in middle of the night...kinda scary.

No, it's bluetooth.... I'd buy it if it would work with my Smart Things v3.

OK I used Schlage in my old house one of the best, I don't know someone mentioned battery last one month or so not sure. Mine usually last more than a year, also it integrates with smart hub, best thing, ones time after the month long vacation I literally forgot the password and my family was out of country too..I unlocked using WiFi.
I also opened the door for my cousin from out of the country..
I would like to know,.. About about this one which I want to install at new house.
1. How many fingerprints it can stores? Wife and 4 kids?
2. Can it integrates with Smart hub?
3. Can I open or closed remotely?
4. Does it have it's own app and can I use with Google home or Alexa?

I would be amazed if more than 2% of people who scrolled past this deal could claim after purchasing they had widened what was previously their tightest defense against criminals.

Lock picking, lock hacking... I just don't hear about it.

Crowbarring sliding doors? Absolutely. Breaking windows? Sure. Pulling the garage door release and sliding it up, yeah. Maybe just kicking in the door (do you have specialty screws, anti-pry, a reinforced door and frame?).

Know your threat model. Know what kind of crimes your area sees. Protect yourself when it makes sense in ways that make sense. Smilie

Breaking windows or doors makes noise. It attracts attention. Needs use of some force. Now imagine the company helping manage these locks gets hacked by some idiot sitting in say China and publishes bunch of addresses and codes on dark web. Some fools decide to see if they can get in just for having some fun - maybe not even with intention to rob and you have started a series of events you could have avoided. Sounds like a good movie plot. Alright..maybe it is safe...i dont know...I have some reservations Smilie
