For the best aesthetics, don't these get installed in pairs?
You can get 3, but it'll cost you more. Just ask Doug Quaid.

Boob lights are the cheapest light on the planet, both in looks and in price. Please don't buy these to replace any existing fixture in your house. Any buyer is going to think they are cheap. Spend the extra money on *anything* but a boob light.

What a time to be alive... I'm over here agreeing and chuckling to these comments then wondering how strange it is that I was raised to not care so much about how fancy things were, as long as it worked. I myself prefer the newer led pocket light or "can" lights, to these voluptuous protrusions sticking out from my ceiling. I wonder who started making things so unacceptable here. And meanwhile, there are people using old plastic bottles poked through their huts for solar lights. What a time to be a consumer.

As a realtor, I can attest to the truth in this statement.

I would install this all day long in a rental. Especially with the LED bulb included.

Since people here are knowledge-able about lights, what kind of lights are good replacements? I really like to look of the slim flush-mount integrated LED disc lights. But the problem is that the angle of the lights are often downwards, so the edges of the room don't receive much light.

What kind of modern flush mount fixtures distribute light the same way as the boob lights?

It will show that you have some money to spare but it looks exactly like other cheap Chinese goods. Yet most importantly and magically your purchase will elevate you above and beyond the Walmart and Home Depot classes. You spending $1000 for an even more gaudy and trashy light fixture will prove to everybody that you are of the higher class.

Seriously dude you must have not been in an atypical Mcmansion. It's a horrible mix of trash sensibilities with too much money to spend. The underlying houses themselves are basically gawky trash with no architectural or design sensibilities at all. How a boob light could hurt one is beyond me, they are trash from the ground up and the people moving in them appear to fit in well and fill them with more of the same as you can see above. It costs much much more but it is no step up in quality or design. Boob lights in comparison look distinguished if they fit the purpose and at least don't scream all my expensive trash purchases are to prove that I am better than you.

As a realtor I'd think it more important to guide your clients from the $500,000 and up newly built sag and leak boxes before they become trapped in a money pit. I don't mind coming in year later to do all the needed repairs that often start at the foundation level as it is lucrative but it's real pain for the homeowners that you guys pawn these things off on.

I guess keeping them focused on the wise choice in non boob lights smooths the sale and and brings in those big commissions.

I think you have hit on something here, none do the same. You are trying to follow the lead of a crowd that worries about form before function. Boob lights work great and are ideal in many situations and you may have to give up function if you switch to something else.

Not sure if you are aware of this, but light fixtures exist that are more expensive than boob lights but less expensive than 1,000 dollars. And I have no idea what point are you trying to make. Seems like you have a lot of pent up anger towards home-builders and realtors.

Good for you that you value the bones of the house more than the finishes. Most buyers do not. If you want to sell your home and/or want others to look at it and think it isn't what the builder put in and is likely higher quality, pick another fixture. That was my only point, but then you started going off on your maniacal hatred for tract homes or whatever.

Seriously man, what is your deal about this? "None do the same"? Give me a break. "Boob light" does not mean every single flush-mount ceiling light in existence. Tons of better options than boob lights for like $30 a light. Run down to Costco and look [costco.com].

Unlike many, I prefer intergrated LEDs. I would buy this if it were intergrated LEDs. LED bulbs have tiny circuit board, not enough heat dissipation, the light output is weak and uneven due to small area for LEDs in the bulb. I've had many failed LED bulbs but not even one intergrated LED fail out of the 7 in my house over the years. The oldest one is about 6 years old.
