Filet-O-Fish, Large Drink & Medium Fries - $3 @ McDonald's (Friday's only - YMMV)

I found out that in the app right now for McDonald's you stack Free Fry Fridays (mobile orders only) with $2 Filet-O-Fish Fridays and then order a drink for a dollar. Might be a partial YMMV? My coworkers and I both replicated the deal. I know the sandwich might not be the best in the world, but you can't beat it imo for a $3 combo.

NOTE: In the app it does show the sandwich as full price but when you add to "bag" and go to your bag for checkout, it lowers the price.

Ah, I thought it was "sustainably sourced" which is a pretty way of saying farm raised gmo fish fed with garbage bought by the cheapest provider
Actually you are right about farm raised.
Here's from McD's website:
"our wild-caught Filet-O-Fish®! This McDonald's fish sandwich has fish sourced from sustainably managed fisheries".

I don't know how McD manages to mention "wild-caught" in the same sentence with "fisheries".

yep, deceptive marketing. i'm not surprised.

farm raised fish are pretty bad for you, wild fish get a ton of activity and exercise and an extremely varied diet that makes them full of goodness and heart healthy stuff.

farm raised is extremely fatty. EXTREMELY fatty. not to mention the other garbage they likely pump these inbred creatures with to make sure they don't die of the same disease.

If you're looking for a fish sandwich, Arby's has theirs for $1 with the coupon in this thread:

https://slickdeals.net/f/14865706-arby-s-crispy-fish-sandwich-1?v=1

It is a reasonably good sandwich, certainly worth a buck.
No Arby's around here, and the one time I was in a place that had Arbys and asked for one, it was seasonal. Maybe they changed that. BK has the better fish sandwich, used to be even better a few years ago - not sure what they changed but it changed for the worse.

So do they farm raise it then stock a location then catch them? I otherwise can't see how "wild-caught" and "fisheries" could be in the same sentence.

there's not enough information available on the internet, but they do say it's wild alaskan pollock, which is supposedly a fast growing fish

however, there have been reports of them using fisheries to meet the demand.

so i wouldn't be surprised if theyre doing both.
