I just sold mine for $220. It's a great piece of hardware but the iPadOS is too limited. I'd rather have a M1 MacBook Air at this point.

What does this keyboard do differently than a Bluetooth keyboard?
It has a mouse built in.

It connects to the iPad via the connector on the back, so it can passthrough charge the iPad.

Agreed. iPad OS has a lot that needs to change for it to replace a proper computer. A better file system, better multitasking, desktop class web browser when the keyboard is plugged in, a mouse pointer that isn't a big dot allowing for more precise clicks etc.

You'll never get a mouse pointer less than the dot. It would undermine the iPad touch experience too much.

Well, I have 30 days to return this. Hopefully the new IPad Pro will come out before that, otherwise I'll buy the 2020 version.
Exactly what I was thinking. Went with the $1 digital deal and extend the shipping date. Fingers crossed that they release it by the end of the month.

Should be 90 days (certainly no less) like all electronics. So as was mentioned above, my father is buying one in anticipation of the new larger ipad pro (or a great deal on a 2020 one) to replace his ancient Macbook. If it doesn't fit, back it goes.

EDIT: Looks like I was wrong. My parents picked one up and they were told this falls under Costco's normal return policy - aka they could "return it 5 years from now if needed" (their words, not my parents'.)

Say what you say about Apple, but $250 it's called monopoly in my book. I get it this keyboard is super duper booper, but it costs like a midrange chromebook or good midrange phone.
This is an accidental monopoly then because there's literally nothing stopping competitors. The smart connector and magnets are not anything only Apple can design accessories for.

I love my 11 inch but these price drops look like it was overpriced from the start.
