I found these deals at local Walmart today. Others in the area have higher prices. Retail price is over $20 for the Gallon.

$3 ColorPlace Exterior Paint, Satin Finish, White, Gallon SKU 27040345
$3 KILZ Complete Coat Flat Base Paint, Ultra Bright White, Gallon SKU 49023761
$3 KILZ Complete Coat Excellent Hide Paint, Eggshell Base, Gallon SKU 49023763
$3 Glidden High Endurance Plus Semi-Gloss Exterior Paint & Primer, Light Base, Gallon SKU 824451951
$1 Glidden High Endurance Plus Interior Eggshell Medium Base Paint, 1 Quart SKU 422862310

There were a few others for $3 that I didn't get the SKU for. There was a small 1 Quart stain also but I don't have SKU. Definitely YMMV.

Stay away from Killz paint. Bought this from Walmart when it was $5 a gallon. Had to use a whole gallon on a small bathroom and it still didn't look good. Primer good.....paint bad!

How does it work for mixing colors? If you bought now would they mix for you at a later date or does it need to be mixed when bought?

Well that's not what Kilz is for. It's a terrible finish paint- but that's not what it is. It's "just" a stain cover/ primer, and a fantastic one at that.

I'd have knocked you down to get $5/gal Kilz.

Pretty sure this is and the previous poster is talking about a kilz (branded?) water-based latex paint that's labeled as a single-coat interior paint, not the oil-based stain blocker you're thinking of.

The stain blocker primer? Good stuff.

The interior paint? It's absolute garbage.

Also adding you want to try to get your paint shaken up at the store, even if you don't get it tinted... otherwise I hope you have a mixing paddle that goes on a drill because good luck mixing a gallon of paint that separated over a year+ on the shelf at walmart by hand!

I bought a bunch a couple weeks ago. I usually use the top end improvement store paint (like behr marquee for example) or Sherwin Williams. Figured I'd give the color place ultra a try since it was about $10/gal at the time. I was skeptical, but wanted to paint garage (flat white to satin gray) to change look and something that would stay a little cleaner. Also freshly textured and primed a room inside that needed paint. Figured I'd try the cheap stuff in the garage and if it was at least ok, get more for the other room. At this price, even if it took multiple coats I'd still be coming out ahead.

I was actually very pleasantly surprised with this Walmart paint. It was just as good as the behr stuff I last used. Wasn't too thin in consistency, went on well, and only took 2 coats. Even then, I could of gotten away with 1 coat and some touch up. I ended up going back for more and decided to do dining and living room as well. More satin for LR same results. Went flat in DR and the flat paint turned out to be a 1 and done as no touch up nevermind another coat was needed.

Only complaint I had was out of the 3 colors I used, each one was significantly lighter than the label AND the sample cards...like a full 2 or 3 shades lighter. Can to can was consistent though, and it wasn't a coverage issue and actually benefited me as I was worried a couple of the colors I chose (limited by enough stock) would be a bit too dark. Otherwise man, even at the usual $20 or so it's still worth using vs the $40+ good stuff.

Kilz has tried to expand their product line to include finish paint. This is a different product marketed with "Complete" in the name. These are meant to be a finish paint, but these new products are not very good. It is not the primer that is honored by many,

Correct Sir. I'm talking about the Killz latex finish "Complete" paint, not the primer.
