Incandescent bulbs blow out. Not sure why anyone would want to subject themselves to the emotional pain we experienced constantly trying to find replacement bulbs back in the 80's.

11watts each x 15 bulbs is 175 Watts for the total string. Not bad, but certainly wasteful compared to LED options.

I can't speak for anyone else, but the two sets of LED's I tried at our campground yellowed pretty bad after just one season. My incandescents are going strong after 3 seasons. The only ones I've had to replace were after a hail storm.

I bought this led version

https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B08TR...UTF8&psc=1

Not sure how well they will hold up but having led (super lightweight and do not get hot or break) vs incandescent is no comparison.

The more yellow color temp of the incandescents look much nicer I think, and mine have been quite sturdy completely exposed on our rooftop deck. However 15 bulbs over 48 feet is very spaced out. Visually that might not matter to people but if you're wanting to get some useful illumination from them (as opposed to completely decorative/ambiance) then you might want to double up.

Harbor Freight had their black/white ones on sale for $24 a few days ago I noticed.

This post reads as if LED bulbs can't be exact color match of incandescent. What are you talking about...

Always keep your amperage in mind, especially with multiple strings. I'm pretty sure most plugs used are tied into other things

Wouldn't that bring the price of this to more or around the same to the LED version we get at costco? And that has more closely placed bulbs too...or am I missing anything?

Sure, in theory. In practice, they generally aren't. Also, there's a big difference between the glass globe with a filament throwing off delicate yellow light in all directions and leds bulbs that usually primarily project in one direction.
