My local Costco has this hoop for $220. It seems the same as the one on the Spalding website for $599, except with a pad on the pole.

What do you all fill these with? I'm not inclined to use water due to it freezing but at least it's easy to drain. Sand won't present a freezing problem but will be inpossie to drain.

salt water maybe? some sort of pet safe glycol?
Basegel is an option

Dammit it's showing $329 in Chicago...
Oak Brook had them for $230 a couple weeks back. I think either Bolingbrook or Naperville did also. I bought mine a while back and got a price adjustment on it. Hoping to put it together this week now that it's nice out.

Is there a way to check availability for individual warehouses online? Thanks
Is this because it may be cheaper in warehouse versus online?

To anyone looking at Costco online and seeing the $329 price, it's higher because this thing is a monster to ship.

Call your store to confirm the price there, don't rely on the online price.

I have a similar model and keep it outside year-round, no issues. Every spring I check and tighten the bolts if needed. Haven't seen any rust.

I do remove the net over the winter. Snow sitting on the net causes it to deteriorate prematurely. Of course you're in California so snow probably isn't an issue.

Thanks. Yep, no snow to worry about for me.

I was in Costco today in Des Moines as they were out. They said more were coming in, but they weren't sure when. The reason they're more expensive online is, because of free shipping.

They aren't the same. Walmart has a polycarbonate backboard (turn yellow in a few years) and has a normal adjustment mechanism. The Costco looks like acrylic backboard and has a fully height adjustable gas-shock system. My kids would like that so they can mess with the height with less drama and it's got the padding.

To me it's a no-brainer for the Costco at the sale price. For normal price I might get the Walmart one just cause it's casually used by the kids
