I'll take my so-so blacks and keep about $400 in my pocket. Ha.
This, of course, isn't going to have the inky blacks of OLED, but this 70" LG has a VA panel, so it will have better blacks and narrower viewing angles than an IPS panel.
Yeah amazing at $3300.

Can't decide between this and the Vizio. Either way I'm going to have to pay to get it delivered and spend another $40 on alternative legs.

Update: read the reviews and they both rate somewhat poorly as expected with budget TVs. Went with the LG anyway.

Probably. It may also be too tall and either need to lean or lay down.

Where? Costco? I have to get my sister to check, or I'll look on their site I guess. As an LG at this size, it's decent deal but LG doesn't make good lower budget TVs..... Well most of these TVs suck. I'll stick with my decade old set, until BF comes back and I can afford higher series/class model or even OLED (probably will just get QLED.

Totally disagree....with respect. My parents bought a low end LG UK 6090 and I was impressed at how good the picture was with a mere 1080p. We watched a Netflix HD video (Midway) and it looked pretty good. Sure, you can nitpick a smart TV all day long at Ratings.com, but....most people are focusing on content not techno nerd priviledge and snobbery about nits of brightness, etc. I used that TV to go to youtube and viewed some 4K videos.....in a dark room, I was wowed that the technology is so good and cheap right now. If you haven't figured out the complexities of a smart TV review, then....buy this TV. It's solid. It's a solid buy for most people who don't nitpick their picture. Yes, my TCL R625 is brighter and has more features...and...no I haven't really ever seen an OLED screen. No I don't play videos on my smart TV. I have low expectations and lesser interest in finetooth analysis of picture quality. You get what you pay for, and for most people who don't visit "Reddit r/smart TV"...they would be quite satisfied with this TV. When you don't have a reference point seeing excellence, you'll be quite satisfied with "pretty good". That's how most people are.

Yeah, it is pretty amazing to me what you can get for an ultrabudget price in a 70+ inch TV these days. I would personally steer people away from ultrabudget IPS panels, unless they really needed 120Hz for some specific reasons. But these recent TVs with ultrabudget VA panels are likely going to please most people upgrading from a significantly older, and likely smaller, 1080p TV.

The one caveat is people coming from plasma, or an older OLED they are looking to upgrade, might need to pay up for OLED to really feel like they are not compromising. But that is not most people.

I've only had this TV for a day but I'm really impressed. I followed most of the settings recommended by rtings and it is a world of difference from my old "Toshiba" 4k. It looks almost 3d. For $500 I don't think you'll find anything better.

Bear in mind that while I'll spend real money on stereo equipment, phones and computers, I'm a cheapskate when it comes to televisions. Like another poster said, if you're really into video you may not be as happy.
