I'm on the edge... wanted a monitor for multi tasking but I heard this monitor makes a crackling noise in the reviews. It'll be in my room and I wouldn't want that...
This has 110% SRGB coverage, 250 Nits brightness, 100hz, 1800R radius
If you can wait, look for a deal with the Samsung lsm340yp05 panel from monoprice, gigabyte, vio tek, etc.
It has 120%+ SRGB at least (90% DCIP3), 400 nits, 144hz, 1500R radius and they have been going for $350-400 the past few months. Significantly better screen.
Unless you need an ultra wide monitor now then I would avoid or just get the gigabyte monitor. I would consider this an outdated monitor with its older ports, 100 hz refresh and VA.
I picked up Gigabyte G34WQC from Bestbuy at new full price of $450 and am super happy. Didn't notice the difference from my old IPS panel monitor accept for here I would get eye strain if you don't sit exactly at the center horizontally and vertically of the screen. Once I adjusted the monitors height, no problem. So just something to consider with VA. Its also my first ultrawide.
I just purchased a curved aoc 29" One that got posted 2 or so days back for 129 bucks.. hard to fork out 3x now..
Are you referring to the AOC CQ29G2E from OfficeDepot for $129?
That monitor is 2560x1080, 75hz refresh rate, 1x display port 1.2, 2x hdmi 1.4.
If that is the AOC you are talking up. Yes, Cheap. But meh specs overall.
Personally waiting on the Asus ASUS - TUF Gaming 34 VG34VQL1B that was supposed to be $299.99, but now listed for $499.99 to actually be release and come down in price.
If you are considering an Ultrawide. This is not a bad price but if you can swing a little more I would go with Gigabyte or urlhasbeenblocked. (vio tek) I went with urlhasbeenblocked and I am happy.
*Update*
Not sure why the word (Vio tek) was getting blocked. It was not a hotlink or url. Strange.
Colors are pretty meh and the calibration menu is pretty bad. It's great for a budget UW, that aside. Keep in mind, no VESA mount without a bracket you'd have to buy.
