You are comparing two different levels with that question, TBH that's a good thing. Way to often people make incremental comparisons when they should do this.
This would help you find out if the next level is worth the money to you or not.

If you conducted a blind test with those two I would gamble and say the majority would pick these to "sounding" better.
The more important question, is the difference "worth" it for the extra price to you. Unfortunately the only way to answer that would be to listen to them both.

Having listened to both I would say these are worth it. In layman terms the Infinity's have a stale/flat/uninspired sound lacking fullness(to me). The 08's have more a natural full detail sound with a wider dispersion(to me).

People often say regarding Infinity "at this price" they are a good buy, which may be true for some people. On the other hand that also means they may not be "worth" it at a higher amount, which I would agree with.

The best way to find out is get both and hear for yourself.

I like avsforum (US) and avforums (UK). I wish rtings.com would eventually do more Home Theater audio but they aren't there yet (excellent for TVs though).

Why are these cheaper than the bookshelves?
I am contemplating getting a good pair of bookshelves for vinyl listening. B&W 6xx, or maybe KEFs 300. I have a good dedicated 100w amp, which I don't think would be enough for floor-standing speakers.

I have been looking into these but can't really find the differences or can't figure it out. Anyone ever compared these to the Bowers & Wilkins 6 series floor standing speakers?

I have and it will depend on your sound preference.

For me these have more detail & articulation. The 6's have a perceived fullness but it's loose. The 6's like a more power also.
Keep in mind the 6's are B&W's entry level model, think BMW's 3 series.

Def tech service has detoriated considerably after covid. I will never recommend them. They have horrible amp issues

Anyone compared these BR08 against ELAC UF52?

I'm aware that the ELACs cost more...
