I chatted with their rep on Twitter and they said that the referral is 60k for now. They do not know if it will change. They were not that knowledgeable nor helpful

Thanks gagaun. I also spoke with their rep on phone and they said the same thing. Apparently, referral sign-ups are still capped at 60k bonus points (with an additional 15k going to the person who gives out a referral), whereas 80k if you use the direct sign-up link.

Thanks, jinklasbhava for the additional info.

$0 first year annual fee was listed in the disclosures I was asked to agree to when I signed up in the branch today. So definitely waived when you sign up at the branch.

Yes, the waived fee is for in branch only, not for signing up online.

i applied with my EIN and got denied because i got the bonus with my ssn less than 4 years ago.

I went into branch today and it said annual fee waived first year as in branch special on the computer screen right as we started the application

FYI - you're going to be waiting a while before you can get any other Chase Sapphire bonus (Reserve or Preferred). They have a 48 month rule.
The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months.
Why not? I got bonus back in oct 2016, cancelled nov4th 2020.
It's been 4 years since I got my CSP bonus and my AF just hit, and wondering if I should downgrade now to a Freedom so that I can sign up for a CSP or CSR in a couple weeks when the bonuses are more lucrative. Seems sorta complicated but I guess I need to open a new account and then transfer my UR points sitting in there

If that's your plan than you need to get it done now. I was told by Chase CSR when i downgraded mine. "Both new freedom card and the card you are cancelling needs tobe synced up with all three bureaus". It takes few cycles and to make sure when you apply for new card its all good.

What do you mean by that? All three bureaus need to have processed that I've downgraded from a Sapphire so by the time I go to sign up again and Chase initiates the check through them, I'm in the clear? If a credit check is instantaneous when applying, wonder how long it takes to process a downgrade
Well, ive done like 20-30 and ive received one each time... They always send 1099s out for sign up bonus offers. Its considered interest.
Dude, you're either highly misinformed or doing something wrong here. It's not taxable - end of story. I've never received a tax form and my household has 30 credit cards collectively. Stop spreading b/s. You could file it if you want to be generous and pay money to the IRS but other than that, you don't have to.

i received a 1099 for one of my chase bonuses but others i did not it was weird.. not all of them though.
They killed the ability to do that a while back now.
You can no longer get more than 1 sapphire bonus every 48 months, and will be rejected for opening a new sapphire if you currently hold one.
Oh wow. Had no idea! The good old days are over i guess. I might close my csr and open csp and then upgrade to csr then, if they allow that. But if they do allow that would I get the $300 travel credit on the csr?

Any chance the one you got the 1099 for was a referral bonus and not a spend bonus?
Generally credit card signup bonuses requiring spend are not considered taxable/income, but rebates.
Generally bank account signup bonuses ARE considered income/taxable and 1099s get issued.
Referral bonuses tend to be somewhere in between and kind of hit and miss
