$0 first year annual fee was listed in the disclosures I was asked to agree to when I signed up in the branch today. So definitely waived when you sign up at the branch.
03-31-2021 at 07:28 AM
Yes, the waived fee is for in branch only, not for signing up online.
03-31-2021 at 10:02 AM
i applied with my EIN and got denied because i got the bonus with my ssn less than 4 years ago.
04-05-2021 at 09:46 PM
I went into branch today and it said annual fee waived first year as in branch special on the computer screen right as we started the application
04-26-2021 at 04:44 PM
Confirmed annual fee waived in branch

I chatted with their rep on Twitter and they said that the referral is 60k for now. They do not know if it will change. They were not that knowledgeable nor helpful
04-03-2021 at 07:39 PM
Thanks gagaun. I also spoke with their rep on phone and they said the same thing. Apparently, referral sign-ups are still capped at 60k bonus points (with an additional 15k going to the person who gives out a referral), whereas 80k if you use the direct sign-up link.
04-06-2021 at 02:01 AM
Thanks, jinklasbhava for the additional info.

Not sure when this was updated, but my brother can now refer me with me the 80k bonus.
04-08-2021 at 06:21 PM
i received email yesterday, saying i can refer and my friend will get 80k bonus.

Being an authorized user does not disqualify you from opening your own account.

However, it counts against the 5, under Chase's 5/24 rule. So, be sure you haven't applied for 4 other credit cards within the past 24 months.

I think you just change your payment method to this card. I just changed it yesterday, so we'll see

just got credited 80000 pts upon statement closing, until 4/30 the points are worth 25% more at grocery store and home improvement stores via "pay yourself back", so 80k pts are worth $1k (gift card) purchase at those places, plus 2x total points at grocery store also until end of this month
"Pay Yourself Back" program has been extended through September 2021.

However, I'm not sure whether the purchase categories will change between now and then. My understand is that the "Pay Yourself Back" program was based on rotating categories.

Edit: Multiple media sources state that the categories will remain the same until the end of September. However, I have been unable to find any corroborating information published by Chase.

Why do they refund the AF?
Because the AF is for having the card for the next 12 months.

If you downgrade to a free card within 30 days of the fee posting, they refund it in full.

And why would the AF post before the annual due date?
First AF posts almost immediately on getting the card. Next one posts a year later- that's when your clock starts to use the second credit and downgrade.

Applied in bank and got approved! $95 fee waived! I got Chase Sapphire Preferred bonus points 7 years ago, downgraded to Sapphire after 1st year and converted to Freedom Unlimited last year.

I don't need it right away so I let it do the snail Mail instead of expedited. Good luck!

If I already got a promotional period of free DoorDash from chase freedom last year which has expired, can I re-up with the sapphire for its 12 months of free DoorDash? Or is it once per account, user, ssn ( as regulated by chase as they track individuals via ssn)?

Call chase card services and see if they'll honor the sign up. They're usually pretty accommodating especially if it's just a few days and you haven't activated your card yet.

Received the CSP card today but the literature does not mention anything about this 80k offer!

Edit: I can see the offer after signing up in the mobile app

I've downgraded my Reserve to a Freedom, other than just waiting for the 5 days people mentioned before, are there any other way to test that my account/profile is updated and ready for me to apply for another Sapphire card?

TIA

Guys ..I downgraded my regular Sapphire to Freedom Unlimited do I can jump in on this deal. I have to wait 5 days before heading to a local branch. Is that 5 days from the day I activated my Freedom Unlimited card or 5 days from when I spoke to the csr agent on the phone regarding the switching to Freedom Unlimited? Thanks!

$4k requirement is for spending not for carrying a balance. You can and should pay all of it back each month.
