Quote from thanks :
The filters with UV light actually kill the virus
I heard these air filters actually just make the virus circulate the air more and spreads the covid faster. Saw it on Facebook so it must be true.

Plasmawave is fine. Yes it generates ozone but it's so minimal in ppm you'd have to have dozens of purifiers in your home 24/7 to matter. It passed the California Air Resource Board so if it can pass CA ultra regulations, dont worry.

I installed this air filter over five and a half months ago and run the air filter a good amount and haven't replaced it yet ("1 year" supply of 3 additional filters still in plastic) and its at 55%.

Winix might have discontinued the C545 and kept the C535.

Only refurbs left.

Could be temporary due to their available stock in being depleted from Costco sale.

Quote from c0bra99 :
Yes, it is just a fancy fan, but unfortunately both my C535 and C545 have developed rather annoying sounds while running. The C535 sounds like a bearing or something going bad in the fan motor (kind of a soft rumbling/scraping noise). The C545 sounds like the fan has come out of balance and makes a low pitch wobbly noise on lower speeds. It is hard to describe the noises, but they are annoying.
If you are handy i'd just take apart the 1st noisy one and add some oil to the bearing/bushing on the motor.

The 2nd one with balance might have dust buildup on the blades making it not balanced could just use a cleaning with a compressed air can.
