Pandemic: Hot Zone on sale right now for $7.86 online or in-store pickup, free shipping for red card members or for orders over $35. Previous low I've seen went Front Page around Black Friday for $10.00. Shows as $14.99 all around me on BrickSeek for some reason, I did in-store pickup personally. Looks like a well reviewed quicker mini version of Pandemic, so it seems like a no brainer at this price.
For the love of #@$#@, just spend the $8. Your time is worth it
Pandemic is a great series of board games. One of the best introductory games for people who don't have much experience with board games outside of casual games like Monopoly or Clue.
This version is an even easier and faster version (and cheaper) of standard Pandemic. Although standard Pandemic is not very complex to begin with, so I would suggest picking that up over Hot Zone if you want to get a more complete game experience. This feels more like Monopoly Jr to standard Monopoly by comparison; it's still basically the same game, but it's an obviously neutered version to appeal to a more novice market of players.
Either way, you'll have a good time playing something a little more complex than Monopoly. Just know that this is a cooperative game, so people that prefer competitive games might not understand the appeal.

The game came out march of last year, talk about bad timing.
That's true that it might be a turn off for some, but their sales have gone way up because of it! I personally know several people who started playing various versions during the pandemic. You win when you can find the cure and there's also a possibility to completely eradicate the disease. I recommend it - especially now. 😁👍🎉

Cool. Thanks! Don't want to use my inkjet for that, but it I can find someone with a color laser... Though in all seriousness, at $7.86 it's cheaper, timewise, just to buy it rather than spend the time trying to print both sides and cut the cards out afterwards.
I actually started with the print and play version to determine if this was simplified enough to also work as a kids-friendly introduction to Pandemic. Once that was confirmed I purchased the official copy upon availability of an earlier sale.
Contrast this with the smaller ticket to ride games which, although faster/shorter, aren't necessarily any simpler than the regular format ticket to ride games.

Seriously, I can't imagine how much time you'd spend cutting everything out just to play with a flimsy paper version of the game. How do you even shuffle a deck of paper cards?
