Slick if you don't mind filling out a rebate card, this thing has allowed me to OC my 4670k and squeeze out another couple years of decent performance.

There's really nothing to fill out.

Your browser can autofill everything in less than a second by instead registering the rebate online via https://coolermaster.rebateaccess.com/

Omg I bought this at best buy for 40 dollars. Smh. It's a really cool looking product. Looks high quality. I don't have long term usage experience with it, though. You have to demount the mother board to put the plastic frame/mount thing on the back of mobo with the screws that go through. Then screw this to the front. I do find it better than the plastic pegs that come with stock chips.

terrible deal, for this price a gammax 400 outperforms it, go a few bucks higher and the vetroo v5 outperforms it, and go up to 30 bucks which is the msrp of this cooler and you get to the se 224 xt, and the se 224 xt blows any hyper 212 out of the water in performance

Can you post some links to these products? Do you recommend getting them from Amazon or a better seller?

The gammax is a no name knockoff of this very product, which is at an historically low price IIRC. The non-v2 versions of both coolers, which you are conflating with this deal, have an abysmal mounting mechanism and far worse fans, and RAM clearance issues. The Vetroo, another brand no one has heard of, has annoying RGB lights that can't be disabled.

So yeah, you have no idea what you're talking about. If you want Chinese knockoffs, then you can use that logic in every Slickdeals thread and then every thread would be a link to AliExpress.

I recently helped a buddy put together a PC and he opted for the vetroo. The installation wasn't difficult and he chose to not plug in the rgb cord into his header; easy peasy if no lighting is preferable. I didn't do any testing on the vetroo, but during stress-testing, it seemed adequate but not overly impressive. Seemed like an OK value; however, I'd be excited to see a reputable YouTube channel vet the vetroo. I couldn't tell you how it stacks up to the competition, and that's a worthwhile thing.

The Vetro was already vetted 3 weeks ago with a positive review: https://youtu.be/2LDz-uDKoJo

My own personal experience with the Vetroo is BAD and I would not recommend.

The cooling performance is good - more than enough for a 3600 - I don't have equipment to compare with but it seemed to match a previous Hyper 212 I had, and it has nice RGB and a solid build to boot.

My gripe with Vetroo is that I had difficulty mounting it - seemed like some tolerance issues and I need to use a lot more force than I was comfortable with to get the screw holes to line up properly (it was like... half a millimeter off). So this makes me question the longevity of my mount since I had to put a lot of rotational tension on it to get it screwed in. I probably should have aborted the build but I was deep in the weeds and didn't want to go through the return process.

Because of that, if I had to do it all over again I'd stick with Cooler Master.

Hmm. His testing methodologies weren't precisely scientific

gammax still outperforms, and mounting isnt all that bad. also the vetroo v5 is insanely good, Jayztwocents reviewed it with his own paste and it kept even a 3700x chilled. Havent seen you mention the se 224 xt, as I have one on my r5 3600 and it idles at 29c with a 3.9ghz oc on it bud... i doubt you have any idea what you are talking about

If you want to put no name parts on your CPU, go for it. The fan on the 212 V2 is worth a lot more than the fans on the coolers you mention. Again, you can use your logic on every SD thread, and then the entire site would be links to AliExpress

well if you really care about fans, a better fan than on the 212 v2 (p12) is 5 bucks, so you could have a better cooler and a better fan for a little more than a 212 v2 bud

The GAMMAXX is not a no name knockoff, as you say. So you have no idea what you're talking about, as you say.
It is made by DEEPCOOL. That's the same DEEPCOOL that makes the DEEPCOOL Assassin III, which has tested as the best air cooler on the market by many enthusiast publications, beating out the other big names like Noctua, BeQuiet!, Cooler Master, etc. It even beats out many AIO liquid coolers, even 360mm AIOs.
Fact is, unfortunately nearly all of this stuff is made in China. A lot of the time, the same factory complexes making the big name products are the same ones making the lesser name products with the same machinery, workers, and parts.

aye, thanks for helping me out man, just was trying to convince him that his was in fact a quality cooler, and if you really weren't happy with the fan included, its 5 ish bucks for a p12 so its really a great value imo
