"Tello uses Sprint's nationwide coverage, which isn't the best, but will still cover most people in most areas. Tello uses Sprint's 4G LTE network, which still exists despite T-Mobile recently absorbing Sprint."
Edit: product listing says it includes a GSM Tello SIM card, so might be T-Mobile's 4G LTE network that you're getting.

That info seems outdated. The listing says a GSM sim is included, and this blog post[tello.com] from them implies both are supported.
Looking for a phone to work with Tello, will Moto G7 Plus | GSM Unlocked | Made for US by Motorola work? On sale at Amzn for $120. Open to other similar price or less suggestions.
Had very bad experience with tello purchased through StackSocial . Every month service was canceled and I had to deal with customer service to prove I have service for 6 month prepaid. Gave up after 4 month calling every time and got different provider.

Thanks, so I guess that means it's T-Mobile. Confusing because the blog you posted is from 2016 (before sprint and T-Mobile merged) and my quote is from 12/2020. These things need to be more clear on the purchase page and Tello's website, I swear...

Same here, had to call every month to renew for the month. It was frustrating.

I got the similar promo back in September and I haven't had any problems. Mine just renews automatically at $0 each month. :/
Service works just fine too. I do have the MyTello app[google.com] on my phone if that makes any difference.
For me, it just slows down. Can still use it for very basic/slow loading web browsing or email, but Pokemon Go fails if I try after going over 2GB. I'm usually fine w/ 2GB, but I might go over a bit toward the end of the month once in awhile.
I think your math is off -- I get $5.27/month. After 6 months, you can stay on the 2GB plan unlimited T/T plan for $14 or downgrade/upgrade to your actual usage. For example, the 2GB/100 min plan is $11. You can use Tello Dollars to pay for month seven if you earn them when you open your account. And from month 6 on, you can roll data by renewing a day early. You cannot do that during the Stacksocial plan because it will void the promotion.
I just signed up for the 3 month deal 50% off and paid for the first month. Can I get this and continue using this for next 6 months with the same phone number?
