5.11 has the Halcyon Boot Series at 60% off. Free Shipping. I bought a pair of the Patrol Boots last week wore them a few times now, and they are super comfy. I just bought a 2nd pair and may get another pair of the Waterproof ones for next winter. I really like the looks of them and they seem like they'll last awhile.

I go through a pair of duty boots about once a year and these are bar none the worst I've bought. They were unbearably painfully. Not just the usual break in. I've always had good experience with 5.11 atac and lightweight as well as first tactical. Danner and Haix if you can afford em are a different level of quality
Final Sale, No Returns
worst condition on shoes.
Any deals on jorts to go with these? Summer will be here before you know it.

Not bad looking but reviews are not that good. Ever wore danners? I wonder they compare

I was a bit leery of the reviews also, but after wearing them I like them and prefer boots that don't have a drastic heel/toe drop. Check out the amazon reviews they seem a bit better.

I have had very good luck with Salomon 4Ds. Very comfortable and goretex. You can usually find some deals on them. At least much cheaper then 3-400.

Will Amazon match price?
It's very difficult to find quality shoes, ie Salomon, at a reasonable price. My Salomon is like 15+ years old, used regularly during winter season, and still no flaws, including waterproofing. Will this be in same class as Salomon's?

I received these to test and they're not bad. As stated above, the heel is higher than most prefer but are easily corrected a bit with an insert. The leather is not durable at all and become like cloth when it's very hot or wet. If you've tried other side zip boots (bates, galls, haix etc) these are the same feel and quality

These last about a year before falling apart. My Haix lasted about 2 years but were torn going over a fence.

When really needing durability, danner Acadias come out. Had then for 6 years, 3 soles, and they're still kicking.

I have owned many 5.11 patrol boot and never had great luck. For the price, meh not bad.
Mine seemed to always get loose is odd places.
That said if they have these in coyote in my size I'd probably grab a pair.
I don't love these type of boot/sneaker hybrids for patrol. Just feel too much like sneakers for my taste.
In my experience you can't beat Danner Acadias for patrol. Built well, last forever, easy to get resoled, have insulted options. Worth every penny

Would the waterproof make a good motorcycle boot? The no heal is appealing for my bike.
