Bought this around last Christmas. No rebate to date.

In my experience, this cooler is fine for CPU's that draw up to 150W. It can't handle my 10850K even at stock in Cinebench. At 4.8GHz all-core load when my 10850K draws up to 232W, the fans on the cooler get very loud at 2200RPM but still can't keep the CPU temps in check. The core temps reach 100 degrees and the CPU immediately throttles down to 4.16GHz.

When playing Cyberpunk 2077, my CPU temps hover around 80 degrees with the cooler fans loud enough to annoy the heck out of me despite my wearing a pair of around-the-ear headphones.

I have no idea how Corsair came up with the rating of 250W for this cooler. Maybe they tested it on the North Pole in the dead of winter instead of normal room temperature of 72 degrees.

No wonder this cooler is going for half of its original MSRP of $100 plus Corsair offers a $20 rebate. To get that rebate, they require you cut off the UPC code and mail it to them with the filled-out rebate form. And then Newegg rejects your refund request because you can't return anything to them without a UPC code. Corsair, in its turn, refuses to refund because you didn't buy it from them. Now I am stuck with a $50 paperweight. Tried to sell it on CL but I guess I am a lousy salesman because I wrote the truth about this cooler in my ad. Lol

I ended up replacing this cooler with Noctua's NH-D15S and now my temps are well under control and no throttling whatsoever. The miser pays twice. Lesson learned.

I think the issue is the poor quality control on the surfacing of the cooling pipes. I ground mine flat and got much better performance, temps down another 5 degrees. But even then I plan to toss it and just use the fans, because it's so large that my case panel touches the top of it (even after grinding) and I'm afraid that any knock moving it around will transfer pressure to the CPU/motherboard. For $30 it's worth it for the fans I guess (and screw driver 😀) , but what a lemon of a product! Which is a pity, because the sliding attachment system was a pretty good idea.

Thanks for the info. I'm looking for a good air cooler on sale that I can use on my 10850K. Currently looking at the ARCTIC Freezer 50 which I can get for $59. Looking for something with a little more visual zing than the Noctua.

Stay away. Put your money towards something else, like Scythe Fuma 2.

I picked this up in January, rebate is still processing but they have received it (it says give it 10 weeks so a few weeks before that for me.) I think this gets a bad rap from the initial run where they had issues with the base being uneven, but it seems that has long since been resolved. Mine was perfectly flat via the razor blade test, and it does a hell of a job on my 5600x. Keeps it under 55c when loaded with cinebench all cores. Mine runs at 4.65ghz all cores throughout the test, all I did in the bios was enable pbo and set my xmp profile (3600mhz cl16.) I suspect the deep discounts are because of the initial issues they had, and now they can't move them. Finally keep in mind this is quite the large cooler, though with the fan rails it's pretty manageable to install and make it fit.

I used it to replace a large zalman cooler that was extremely noisy. It runs quite for a streaming server with moderate overclock. The processor is a 2700k. I knew going in from reviews it was a average at best cooler. For the price if you are not going to heavy overclock it should do fine. That is if you can fit it in your case. I had to modify a full tower case by relocating side case fan to get a tight fit at that.

I use this cooler on my 1700x and it keeps the temps below 65 degrees when running Cine bench. Don't believe the youtube reviews. You will not find a better cpu cooler at this price 💯💯

I got this last time it was on sale to replace my wraith cooler on a 2700x. It keeps Temps under 60 while gaming and is very quiet. I don't understand why people that have not used one always comment on it being so terrible.

Wow, a rebate. Haven't seen a lot of those in a while. I remember every damn PC part would come with a rebate! Guess they got sick and tired of processing all of them.

I got this last time for Ryzen. The mounting is so poor, I didn't even get it installed before snapping one of the posts off.

Thankfully Newegg did not give much hassle returning. It was defective. Not my first rodeo, just an inferior product.

Stay FAR FAR away.

I picked up a Scythe Ninja 5, much better mounting system and dead silent.

There is a reason this is $30 people!
