A lot of people are on 200 mbps or less connections like I was and this is a great router that is easy to set up and has a great app. Only reason I switched was to go to a mesh system for a larger home.

You can bridge them but for the price, I'd just get a decent mesh system.

Reviews on amazon says V5 is locked from dd-wrt

This router has amazing reception through walls. Beats many routers 4x it's price. If you want range, try this out!

Also OpenWRT was an easy install on this.
