Could you please explain, why is this better than two ranges side-by-side for half the price total? I really would like to understand.
2 side-by-side ranges would be incredibly janky. No thanks.

Probably because you're not likely to find a standard stove with a burner with 18000 BTU output. I'd certainly would prefer something like this over just two normal stoves.

Have an NXR range. Not this particular model, but an older/narrower 4 burner variety (36" width IIRC). The oven is works fine, but for 1 of the burners, I need to put a lighter to in order to fire up (maybe needs some more cleaning)- no biggie. The major issue, however, is that these burners will keep clicking non-stop as long as the fire is on (it's the sparking/clicking noise that comes on initially but is supposed to stop once the flame is lit). This started happening soon after purchase.

Google "nxr stove won't stop clicking" for some common complaints.

This is like asking why two 1,500 sf houses side by side isn't better than one 3,000 sf house

My new house came with a Viking that looks just like this unit. I love it and the griddle is a great feature. This one looks really good at this price point.
I can't tell if that was an honest attempt at a comparison or if you just wanted to brag that you have a Viking range. In case that was an honest comparison, I don't think it's a valid argument because you're basing your assessment solely on looks. It's like saying, "My Bentley looks like a Chrysler 300. I love my Bentley. The Chrysler looks really good at its price point."

Viking's reliability isnt great, at least According to a local dealer. $$$ doesn't guarantee reliability.
