Lug around a big 17" laptop and all you get is 1080p.

Is there any difference between the m17 R3 and m17 R4?

Edit: Never mind...I think I see the difference is basically the GPU.

This is hardly for lugging around... and 1080 is better if you are traveling to a friends or something to play, since it'll use less battery. But realistically, this is a "mobile" gaming PC wrapped up as a laptop, and you should use an external monitor to maximize it's performance.

Damn. This is tempting. Considering 3080 laptops are to closer 2500+ but gaming performance is marginally improvement. Maybe on dlss game is more noticeable.

What the hell is "NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 2080 SUPER™ 8GB GDDR6 with Max-Q Design
Memory"? Like is it a RTX 2080 Super or Max-Q?
Well....it's a 2080 Super Max-Q.

Almost the exact same specs with my m17 R3 but I have 2x 2TB m.2 SSDs in place of the 2x 1TB of this deal. I paid about $3k for mine.

I really do not like the lack of granularity of HD options. The 512GB drive is in the 2230 m.2 format, is considered a "data" drive and slow in comparison to the 2280 format drives. I would have preferred to buy the system with just the 2x 2tb drives but that wasn't an option.
