Anyone have a recommendation for a USB enclosure for this? Thinking about turning this into an external M.2 as I do a lot of large file transfers as a photographer/videographer.

Been watching NVMe prices and gonna finally bite on this one. Code only works for 500GB variant, didn't try heat sink.

The ACASIS USB/Thunderbolt 3 NVMe enclosure does superb with this particular drive, hitting >2500MB/s for both read and write on my M1 Mac mini.

This enclosure supports both USB-C (usually around 900MB/s) as well as TB3/TB4. It's essentially the only enclosure that can do all this, and performs better with the SN750 that other NVMe drives I tested, including Samsung Pro and ADATA.

Thanks - looks like it's sold out on Amazon though, darn. I'd estimate the total cost to be around $100 for the M.2 and this enclosure which doesn't sound too bad for a super fast external drive.

Edit to place a USB drive here. This 1TB drive is cheaper than that enclosure, if you are just looking for USB:

Fast drive for a good price. Now we just need 1 and 2TB sizes at ~$100 a TB. The 1TB Intel 665p at $80-90 for the past year was the reigning value champ.

Thinking of replacing a spinning hard disk in a laptop with this one (laptop has an NVME slot).

Do I need to add a heatsink?

Likely so. I have this SN750 drive and it does get rather warm.

Anyone have noise issues with these? I have a couple of 1TB ones and I'm almost certain the noise I'm hearing (kind of like a piezo electric buzzing noise) is coming from them.
