Not a good switch. I bought (and then returned) this exact same switch at the beginning of March. I also used a coupon and paid $12.09 plus tax. I had previously purchased and installed other brands of smart dimmers (Treat Life, Go sund, Wemo, Martin Jerry), all of which work very well in my house with Alexa. This particular one kept dropping off my WiFi, so it was no longer smart. The manual function of the switch was also glitchy; sometimes requiring multiple presses before it would turn on and off, sometimes the manual dimming function stop working altogether. I don't know if I received a defective switch, but it went back to Amazon.

I use these and they're great. I have an older house and don't have a neutral wire available.

You do need to use a hub that has to be plugged into your router though (or an ethernet bridge).

Down wheres its comparing it say "Replace existing switch in 3 steps – NEUTRAL WIRE REQUIRED" also so does the first review

Though it sounds like there may be a work around in some circumstances, ymmv

good price, but I'd recommend Treat.life if you can get them on sale. I too tried several brands (Re.foss, Me.ross, Go.sund, Lum.ary) and all had some issue.

I love the Treat.life "slide dimmer" type (I have 30+ now) and it has a few features that are either unique or just not found without other issues:

1 - you can change the dim amount while still off. this is the only one I found to allow this and it's huge for turning on a previously bright light in the middle of the night without blinding yourself.

2 - you can choose three dimming modes and minimum dim down to 1% which is way dimmer than any other non-configurable switch. Lum.ary had it too, but those switches were glitchy.

I'd post links but SD hates smart switch deals other than those it promotes.

The on/off are fair looking. The Caseta dimmer are ugly AF. Just reading reviews about how effective and reliable they are, I was tempted to go with Caseta, but just can't get over how ugly they are.
