A side note on the themed system..
When one of the joycon drifts and you send it in to nintendo for repair, they don't repair it. Instead you get send back a refurbished random color joycon back.
Happened to me. So do not send in any themed joycon for repair, it will come back as a neon one 😣🥺

So just keep the malfunctioning drifting controller?

So what's the solution? No one else will repair it with warranty

Yeah. Sadly to keep your themed joycon. Either fix it your self or gut transfer. Nintendo suk regarding to repair.
They want $150 to fix my switch when I send the error code in. A quick google for that code said that the speaker wire is unplug/loose causing the switch NOT BOOT......Simply open, plug it in and bam, good as new

Yea, have to buy parts from ebay to repair yourself. I didn't know they just swap another controller . The support rep made it sound like it was going to get repaired and send back to me. Not replace my controller .
Had she mention about swap me a controller, I would have buy parts to do it myself.

That is the Nintendo solution. Send it to their repair center, they send you a replacent controller ( very new looking but is not new ,and no retail box. Just in a plastic bag .)
Any other way you have to buy off market parts on ebay and do it yourself ( not really hard to swap parts )
I figure it was under warranty and will be free and official nintendo repair so I sent it in as instructed .
Then found out they don't really do individual repairs on controller...
In a way I guess it makes sense for them. Cheaper to swap me a refurbished controller than hire someone to take apart my joycon and replace the malfunctioning parts.(be too much $$labor )
