No doubt the Sonys. Not even close. And even if these would have ANC it still wouldn't get close to the xm3s.

FWIW these are not a great on-ear option for running in my opinion. The material used on the ear pieces makes it sound like a window is cracked in your car during your run. In addition to that, the ear pieces themselves are rather bulky and make the profile of these on your head look like your wearing an all in one radio headset from the 90s.

With all that said, these are great to sweat out a traditional gym workout with just not very versatile in my opinion.

Pure marketing like Beats or are these actually good headphones, perhaps made by a company that knows audio design?

Have the plain UA version of these - love them. My favorite headphones for running. Adidas makes a similar pair of sport headphones (model RPT-01) with slightly newer Bluetooth spec, slightly more premium feel, and longer battery, but they fit a bit tighter and I don't think get quiiiiite as loud. Both solid headphones, though.

I thought I paid closer to $60 for my Trains in a refurb sale about a year ago. At this price, I'd consider them if I needed a new pair of workout headphones. But probably not quite the price that I'll buy just to have a spare. Smilie

I got these a while back when they were on sale as just the normal JBL/UA version (from what I read, they are exactly the same in audio quality and build, minus Dwayne Johnson's branding).

To be honest I thought I'd hate wearing over the head earphones or feel silly wearing something so bulky since I usually wear earbuds, but these have been great during cardio and weight lifting sessions and I typically am in thr gym 4 to 5 days per week. The only thing that is annoying is sometimes flat bench exercises like bench press cause them to slide down, but I was surprised how much they stay in place for cardio. I do full sprints sometimes and have never had any issues. I also think the audio quality is great.

If you don't care about the Rock's branding you can probably find the standard UA ones a little cheaper but not totally sure what they're going for these days. I think I spent $60 for a "refurb" but they came packaged looking like they were never used, so I wonder if it was just an open box or surplus inventory.
