T-Mobile has announced that TVision is shutting down, and being replaced with YouTube TV and Philo.



Existing TVision LIVE customers can switch to YouTube TV starting today and get their first month free, followed by a $10 discount per month, making it $54.99/mo.

Existing TVision VIBE customers can switch to Philo starting today and get their first month free, followed by a $10 discount per month, making it $10/mo.

You can get both, and get $10 off of both.

Existing T-Mobile customers who do not currently have TVision can sign up for both at the discounted rates starting April 6th.

You'll need to cancel your existing subscription and then when that's done re-start it using the coupon code provided by T-Mobile.

The 12 month thing turned out to be poor wording on their part. After 12 months the billing will change to internal via the T-Mobile account, similar to how Netflix On Us works now, instead of being billed via youtube.

Spoke with a Google Support agent - For any current YouTube TV customers who also have T-Mobile - you can cancel in the middle of your YTTV sub and still have access until the end of the billing cycle - then sign up/reactivate again through T-Mobile promo link. DVR recordings are kept for 21 days after access expires and as long as your subscription is activated within those 21 days, you won't lose any DVR recordings.

When I cut the cord from AT&T Uverse a couple years ago I tried several of the services available, YTTV, DirecTV Now (now AT&T TV), Sling, and Philo. I had no issue with Sling, but in the end for my home the DVR is a huge deal, we watch very little live, we DVR everything and watch only DVR, including a lot off local channels, so YTTV really works well for us because it has unlimited DVR (including on local channels).

At first we had Philo as well, we had to for HGTV, NickJr, and A&E, but YTTV has added HGTV and NickJr as prices went up at least, and A&E is no longer important to us (RIP Live PD).

If you are happy with what one Sling package provides, it's definitely a better value, but there are clear differences between one Sling package and YTTV that some people will value (additional channels and unlimited DVR).

In a household with a dozen TV's and four active television viewers we do occasionally run into the 3 stream limit, but we can usually work around it with network specific apps (e.g., use ESPN app instead of watching ESPN on YTTV).

Submitted for YTTV on Friday, got the code on Sunday. My subscription ended Monday and so I cancelled it Monday. This am I still had YTTV but this afternoon it had been discontinued. I clicked on the text link that I got from TMobile and up it came with a discount code listed at the bottom on my phone. It asked me which account to use and I chose the old account that I had closed. It said okey dokey and showed the $64.99 minus the $10.00. It automatically used my PP account to pay, as the old one did. I did have to log back into a TV with the code listed. Interestingly enough, it made all the other TV's active as well without having to enter codes. I've now gotten a receipt for the $54.99 payment.

It turns out it was easy-peasy but the TMobile information could have been more clear.

Yeah, guess depends on user interests, as always. And amount of users. Sling blue covers most "general interest" channels we watch, but no locals (no issue if you put an antenna and hook it up to the cable feed to the house). Thanks for that info. Might try that route or similar for a month, just to come back to Suddenlink as a new customer again for internet only. . .so as to drive the online streaming etc we need to make it happen. I recently grabbed the TMO home internet, but with the nearest 4G tower a mile plus away and the nearest 5G tower 2.5 miles away, it's not quite enough yet to make it happen for home internet option for us yet. I'm hoping that Mid May, after the new shows end, and with nothing sport wise shows up, will be the perfect time to do the transition . . .lol too many kiddos that don't follow that timeframe. . .but I will try. And thanks

Apologize in advance if someone posted this already... Even though they text you the link with the discount code it won't with on your mobile device.. I spent over an hour with tech support and they had no solution.. I then emailed myself the link and opened it from a PC Chrome browser and it worked.. so make sure you open the link from PC browser and not mobile.. really poor form T-Mo you're a telecommunications company after all and the link doesn't work on mobile?!

I have different email addresses for my T-Mobile account and Youtube TV account.

I'm confused about the process for existing YouTubeTV customers. My monthly subscription ends today (rebill date is tomorrow). I just cancelled YouTubeTV. I click on the link I received and either if I click try it now or sign in, it takes me to my YouTubeTV account. Do I actually have to wait for the account to end tomorrow before I can do this or am I missing something?
