I am not sure what I paid for it when it came out, but if you like these type of games you won't be disappointed. Once of the greatest games of this genre I have played. Right there with Planescape: Torment from back in the days. Amazing story.
So I have avoided this game for this reason. When I was younger (yes I am 47) I played Planescape when it first came out and loved it. However Torment: Tides of Numinara bored me to tears. So I wasn't sure if I would like this new one or not. Have I changed? Or was Tides of Numenara just not very good.

Amazing game!!! The world building, philosophy, ugly politics, sublime art, nerdy jokes all aside... ...It's just really cool when you put points into the 15 random stats and see your dude get smarter and smarter.

Final Cut has FULLY VOICED dialogue and four new quests, improved visuals and music, and fast travel. The voice part is the biggest addition, it seems. The dialogue in the first game was %99 text-only with a few grunts and phrases occasionally voiced. Apparently the voice acting is good and adds a lot to the game.

Game itself is incredible, as long as you're a fan of point and click, slower, narrative driven games. Incredible writing and atmosphere!
I read about some issues with the games frame rate on Ps5 (patched quickly already) but also issues with the interactivity and gameplay described here by pushsquare.com

"The game uses the right thumbstick on the PS5 DualSense controller to highlight objects within every environment you can interact with. You then need to confirm that interaction by pressing X, except main character Harry only seems to follow your orders roughly half the time. It's a very fiddly system where you need to line your character up perfectly with where the game wants you to stand in order to trigger the prompt. If you are stood slightly to the side, the interaction won't take place. In just a few hours of playtime, we very regularly found ourselves needlessly adjusting positions to fit what the title demands. It's a tedious action that doesn't lend itself particularly well to a controller."

Makes me want to wait for this to hopefully be fixed.

FYI this been $21.99 on Steam (one of the most expensive game stores too since they added refunds)

And it's incredibly buggy on console and not worth much more than that

Given 2020 haven't we all changed?

From what I understand, Tides is considered no where near the masterpiece of the original.

Also, I'm sure you have changed and grown as a person since then as well. Smilie

I've heard great things about this game but I'm still not sure if I want to drop 32 bucks on it. It also looks like a game that will quickly drop in price despite how good it might be.
It's good believe everything you heard about it, it's worth $40 easily but the 31.99 for having ps plus is great

If you have any interest in point and click games, detective/crime games, or story-driven RPGs, just buy this. It's hard to describe, but I've genuinely never played anything like Disco Elysium. It's fantastic.

Easily worth the full MSRP, so on sale I can't recommend it enough.

I actually really liked Tides of Numenera. However, it had literally the worst combat system I ever played in my life.

I played for first time about 30 min. Controls seemed pretty straight forward so far. One stick is look and one move. When there are interactive items on screen a small circle can be highlighted by moving the look stick to that point and X initiates an interaction. It's not an action game.

The controls are as good as you can get from a point and click converted to analog controls. A bit wonky, but you don't need any twitch reflexes in a game like this. There's a good zoom and ways to highlight points of interest.
