I read this book years ago, and it was pretty good.
It has some fairly deliberate modern political analogs, from "both sides" of the usual divides, but overall enjoyable and interesting.

Really was prepared to dislike this book even though the commentary on how future relationships might seemed like it was going to get heavy even though I agree with a lot of it. Ended up enjoying this and the positive feeling and optimism. Really interesting view of humanity's future.

Fun book. Much recommend! Sequels are not as good but still enjoyable.

This is the sort of feel-good sci-fi I didn't know I needed in 2020. Enjoyed this the most out of the series, but the sequels are good too.

Please, read the reader reviews before buying any book. You don't go watch a movie based on "official/critic's" reviews on rottentomato, right? So why should you do the same here. As always, reader/actual movie goer's reviews always ring true.

Absolutely love this entire series of books, including the fourth one that just came out in February!

Seems like a couple of people on here feel the sequels weren't as good -- personally my favorite was #2, A Closed and Common Orbit, with #4, The Galaxy and the Ground Within, in second place. I guess that's kinda the mark of great art, though, that it connects a bit differently with different people?
