fixed combination. cannot be changed.
To summarize the last few threads about cable locks:

Yes, we know that some youtube lawyer, and practically anyone with the right tools, can breach these relatively quickly.

Yes, we know that you shouldn't trust this to protect a valuable item in a risky area.

However, to prevent things from simply walking off because it is unlocked, a cheap, easy to carry, and easy to use cable lock this definitely has its place.
Just one quick note.. the wife and I use these on luggage while on trains in Europe.. it prevents people from just snagging your bag and walking off before you get there we run it through both bags and around the pole or rack.. cheap .. easy and effective for what we need..

Stop the thief with no tools?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOrNiZnW3c0

Not really.... I thought it would have put up a better fight than that. Easy to break and do only 5 counted yanks for a bike. Only for your helmet/wheel or your bike that is in your sight for short period of time in the safest neighborhood.

In for 2. These are perfect for keeping honest people honest when the doors and top are off of the Jeep.

Do not use this for anything valuable. Anyone can crack this type of lock in about 30 seconds.

A good rule of thumb is to only use a lock to protect up to 10x the value of the lock. A $50 lock protects a $500 bike.

And this $3 lock would protect a $30 bike...

The only instance in which this lock would be even somewhat useful is if it was used among other UNSECURED bikes (or luggage as the another user pointed out, where most travelers do not lock their luggage) where it would be the most difficult target. Of course, this is a highly unlikely scenario. If you lock it by itself, yes a thief can cut or bypass it with little to no skill in under 30 seconds. If you lock it among other bikes that are ALSO locked, this will be the weakest one and will therefore be the first one to target by thieves. So yes, there is a place for this lock, it is just a very narrow window.
