About this Product:
  • The ratchets, sockets, and wrenches are made from premium alloy steel and feature a full polish chrome finish that resists rust and corrosion. Large, hard-stamped markings allow for easy identification and can be easily recognized as SAE (double line) or metric (knurled line). Additionally, the off-corner loading design puts force on the flats of fasteners for improved durability and reduced fastener rounding.

I have purchased many things from Woot and never had an issue. As a matter of fact, I purchased the the OEM impact set that was listed on SD about a week ago and received it this afternoon.
Same, I've made quite a few purchases through woot and they've been fine - it's basically amazon's clearance store.
Wow! This is a great deal! The flex head wrenches alone are like $100. I've probably spent so much more than this amassing all my tools over the years. So while this is a large upfront investment, it would be more than worth it in the long run.

For those that say Woot is a scam... I've bought many things from them (including an order for 3x 12 packs of motor oil), and all have arrived quickly, and in great condition.

Pretty sure this is a fairly new SKU, at least looking at the price history on Amazon. Amazon sells it for $1,075 (has not been on sale yet according to CCC at least) so this is pretty decent discount on it. Has a lot of 12 point sockets, but that's not the end of the world. Not much in the way of fillers either, which is a nice change of pace for these types of sets.

That said, if you don't need to just dive right in all at once, you can build a similar set cheaper. HD has been selling their master socket sets around Christmas pretty cheap (even cheaper on clearance). Those are made by Apex (who owns Gearwrench) and should be around the same quality. With that, you can put the rest of this kit together for a bit less than what this is being sold for here. But if you want a jump-start on building out a decent mechanics tool set, this is a pretty good option.

Ok, but popular with 2 upvotes? Woot used to have nice deals, 5 years ago. Glad to know the slick deal overlords are getting their take.
"Popular" is based on clicks, not vote tallies.

Apparently, a lot of us are interested in this deal and while it's score is currently +2, it has had 10 votes. 6 positive, 4 negative.

I've bought things that took months. It pissed me off because they charge me when I bought it and never told me it would take that long.

Then customer support said things get backordered and I told them then I shouldnt be charged until its ready to ship.

It's why i stay clear of woot.

It's literally buying from Amazon. Not really any great deals in a long time, but not a scam.

Exactly - Amazon OWNS Woot.

Such internet ignorance.

Shame those aren't switch type ratcheting wrenches. The 12pt deep wells are an odd choice as well. Still a solid deal but those two changes would make this a killer set
