Read the review comments. Doesn't seem to work any more, esp with new OS.

I have one of these and love it. I mainly got it for my pup, but occasionally use it in my luggage when checking in bags at the airline and use it in my car. Good price, and good service for the inexpensive monthly plan.
I think cost about $20 a year and $1 a month.

Is yours with Verizon or AT&T? Any issues connecting to a phone as reported in the Amazon reviews?

One should switch to the SmartTag if you have a Galaxy phone of tablet. You get more functions at a similar price. I got it on sale at <$14 each a few weeks ago. I think it is back to $27 now. It got a programmable button to control any devices on Smartthings such as garage door opener.
Bluetooth vs. lte, big difference in usage scenarios... Not a fair comparison IMO.

Even though it Bluetooth but when the device out of range it will detect other Samsung phones around to pin points the location. So you still see where it is

I didn't know that. It is an interesting feature. Are those phones required to have the app installed? If so, not sure what the chances would be.

Then you shouldn't buy it.

gotta expand your mind. when cellphones first came out, a lot of friends told me they couldn't see carrying one of those things especially if you have to pay for it. imagine that.

that being said, while there is merit to what this doesn't, i personally do not trust this device to accomplish the task. hard pass.

What app? The Smarthing apps should already in most of Samsung phones built in.

How do you actually go about getting service for this on Verizon?

the price looks good, can you share link to plan ...

and what is the minimum location update frequency (can it update location very few seconds?) thinking of using it as location tracker and track recorder ...
