Good points. The top portion does appear to have more clearance now that you mention it. The nonstick is coming off only on points that make direct contact for me. Maybe I should check with Ninja for warranty on it.
I did just realize that this newer one does result in a bit of height loss but not significant. The ease in flipping in this version is more of a benefit to me. No finish loss at contact points for me - I was concerned about that but haven't experienced it - I would definitely check the warranty regarding that.

I like this larger model. We have the smaller one and use it a ton. Heats quickly and is super versatile, air fry, grill and bake. It's good for 4-1/4 lb burgers. I have to say for 12 months old and 6-7 uses a week it has held up very well and nonstick surface has held up. I don't usually promote items but this is one I often tell friends to invest in. One of our favorite weekend snacks is Pillsbury crescent rolls stuffed w ham and cheese. It bakes 8 in 7 min flat w a 3 min preheat. Come out perfect. No mess, no heat from the oven.

The one at my Costco says 6QT cooking pot. 4QT crisper basket. That's what this one says as well. The Costco one is 5 in 1 though. I actually did take pic. Was $169. Now $149. They had another Fryer in the $150-$180 range but I didn't pay too much attention to. Just came in this week.

Same - I tell everyone to buy this. I love how fast and well it can grill from frozen when I forget to defrost meat for dinner.

Does this actually make your food have that smoky taste like it's from a grill?

Is this the same as the one in Costco? I saw it on display today and it was selling for $180.

The grill grate is 9x12" on this one and 10x10" on the Costco model. That's why this is the XL version. This model also supports a dual crisper basket with the grill grate so you can cook some burgers and fries at the same time.

It does not give off a charcoal type taste. But it does make grill marks. I've made a few steaks and they have come out very good. But if you are looking for that charcoal type outdoor grill taste this is not it.

Thanks Op, pulled the trigger with the New coupon and brought it down to 185. Buy now think later, qvc raises price as the quantities diminish.

No, it does not. Even a gas grill will give some smoke flavor but this will not give any smoke flavor (unless you're causing a lot of smoke while cooking but it isn't supposed to smoke).
