This former front page deal is back! Eligible for Lifetime Service Agreement because it is a kit with a charger. I purchased it the last time and I already have LSA confirmed.

Updating title to YMMV because it appears it may be store pickup only in some locations.

This is the newly released version of Ridgid's standard capacity battery (thanks x_workman_x). The new higher output version is the "Max Output". The new batteries are backwards compatible with the previous 18v lines (regular and Octane), and older 18v batteries are forward compatible with the new line of tools they are releasing.

ICYMI, Ridgid is retiring the "Octane" line and revamping with the Max Output tools, which are supposed to be a little more compact and brushless.

Great deal. Same as another buyer, bought 2 batts back in Dec for $79...... few bucks more get a new charger and bag, no brainer.
Just 2 batteries deal does not come with LSA (no LSA for just batteries, this one come with a charger, plus the LSA).

Sorry, I was talking about a earlier $80 deal that doesn't come with a charger. No LSA for just battery purchase.

This deal came with a charger, then LSA is available because this is consider to be a "tool kit".

You can get 18v Ridgid "compatible" batteries on Ebay for a lot less. Also, if you live near a Direct Tools Outlet store, they sometimes sell the Ridgid chargers for $8.

Additionally, you can use the batteries from many of the other major tool brands if you buy an adapter, which usually run around $25.

Just some ideas to save some $$$. I probably have at least 10 different brands for cordless tools and try to avoid wasting money on picking up new batteries if I don't need them since I already have too many lying around.

Still $179 showing in my zip, sure some stores have different prices. Western IL showing $199 normal while currently on sale for $179. Inventory is getting difficult to find though.

Just received this in and i have to say the compact mini charger takes forever. Both batteries came empty enough to flash the battery symbol when i hit the button on the front. threw one on the old charger and one on the new charger and the old one charger took at least an hour, and the new one took almost two hours to charge.

Do sales like this ever come back in stock during the sale? Wondering if its worth checking back as I could use the extra charger and a back up for the inevitable next ridgid tool purchase...

Yes, I have had quite a few home depot sales that went out of stock, and then went back in stock later while the sale was still going on. I keep the browser window open and just refresh it in the morning, then at night.
