Because three hours ago you could have gotten it for $470 here:

And 2 weeks ago you could have gotten it like I did for $299 here:

None of those are the same Ultra phone that he posted, from what I can tell.

I think it's a warm deal. For those who need a phone without going thru any loop. It was overpriced by samsung with high retail. It didn't help the s21 ultra released in 10 months after with a lower retail price. The resale value took a dump. My galaxy s20 $0 lease deal from sprint buyout is $250 ( got it on release date), now I'm considering returning instead of buyout since retail for brand new is crashing to similar price.

So should I wait for the s21 ultra to go on sale then?

Up to you. No one knows if there be a better sale in near future. If you need a phone now, this deal is not bad. Full
warranty and factory unlocked.

If you look at ebay sold auction. the same phone was sold for 800-900 just days ago.

You can always wait for a year get a year old phone for almost have the price. But if you need a new phone now, this is a pretty good deal based on the specs. The alternative is Oneplus 8 Pro which can be $100 cheaper, say $500-$550. However this has a a bit better interface and camera is pretty good.
