Are they about to change the battery for Craftsman power tools? That's what happened the last time I bought power tools from Lowes. They stopped making the old battery and now I have tools with no way to run them because the batteries are dead.

Good question. This is Craftsman's, I think, 5th battery platform at the same voltage (18v, C3, Bolt-On, v20, and 20v), none of which are interchangeable.

Their propensity for making changes and orphaning tools would be my number one reason to not buy into the line.

Did you mean "VCG"? Tried watching the linked video but like all of their video's could not make it through it as it is mostly a shill show for dollars. They have gotten to be a real sick joke. It's like watching a very bad Jerry Lewis telethon. Oh there is SlimJim with 10 bucks....JJ says hey and sends 2 bucks..RocketRod 10 bucks...Seriously.....
